They probably use a basic "form letter" and just add a sentence or two about the problem the customer is asking about.

But it's good to know that they no longer use pigskin. Now that Coach is selling in so many countries outside the US, it makes sense that they finally decided to stop using it.

The details of the bag seem to be ok although I don't own one to compare it to - except for the serial number. Style number 9960 belongs to a Daypack, not a Barclay Tote.

The plant code matches the country, and the bag has an Outlet stamp and it would have been very unusual for one of those to be faked almost 10 years ago, so it's possible the bag was stamped with the wrong style number. Maybe that's why it was sent to the outlet, I've seen that happen before.

More opinions are welcome.

that is so true. Coach is relatively new here in Malaysia but altho its considered a high end bag, its still a lot more affordable than others and many of the buyers here are muslims who do no use pigskin. I'm not sure when coach stopped using it (no reply yet to this question) but the oldest coach bag i own is from 2004 and the only references i can find to pigskin and coach goes back to the mid90s so i think i'm safe :-)

thank you. i have another one that in terms of detail looks virtually identical, except for the outlet stamp and the 9096 instead of 9960. hmm maybe they just got the order of the numbers wrong? thanks, i think i'll go with it.
