Thanks Hyacinth... that flap one will go into the scrap box.
re this
BTW, even if you can't read it well, a close-up of the creed stamp using the Macro setting is still a big help in any bag to be ID'd or authenticated.
You can often pull the lining or the inside pocket out of the bag to get a close-up.
I actually did shoot those creeds on Macro, but a struggle to get the numbers to show up at all in photos - maybe because I had the flash on.
FWIW I just added another shot of the duffle creed (pocket pulled out) to http://photobucket.com/quest1 -
That photo - as far as I can see - shows absolutely nothing for the number, in-real-life the numbers and "No" can be seen when you check it from an angle.
I may try shooting in natural daylight tomorrow, that is - if it's not 30 below outside :)

Again many thanks for your help & education - Christina G

Comments: This is the one I'm most tempted by.

Item: Willis (brown)

Seller: renee1victor3

Comments: I've asked the seller to post a photo of the creed that doesn't crop out the number at the bottom, but that was only within the last hour.

Are these genuine, and are they reasonable prices? Any feedback is much appreciated!

Comments: The color looks off, but it could just be the lighting, but the stitching looks weird towards the top?

Comparing it to the same item listed by someone I'd consider a Trusted Seller, I don't see any reason to be concerned.

The ways colors are seen by different computers and cameras and the lighting used by different sellers make comparing colors a very inaccurate way of judging authenticity.

The first two seem to be ok.

The third listing seems to have photos of at least two, maybe three different bags. We never recommend buying from any seller who is or may be using someone else's photos.

I can see a very faint hint of the "No" and the tops of the numbers. Since it's probably a pre-1994 bag and won't have a serial number that includes the style number, don't worry about trying to get a better photo.

Thank you both, Hyacinth & BeenBurned. I appreciate your help! :D

I agree that the mini skinny looks fine.
