Hey Peeps,

So this is the deal, I bought two Patricia's recently, I got them authenticated here first, (I learned my lesson, and you guys are always so helpful, thank you for that) I just got my red one, and they look very different. I have a feeling one of them is fake...for some reason, the strap feels sorta gummy on the brown one. I just want to double check, so that if one of them is fake, I can claim it at Ebay since it has been less than 45 days. Thanks as always for your help!!! I paid 40 for the brown, and 200 for the red (steep, but if its real, totally worth it!)

The first thing I noticed is that the strap on the red is a lot shorter, also the shape of the brown seems more boxy. The brown creed is: N(little O symbol that I have no clue how to make...sigh) then -KOD-9951. The red creed: N(again little o) A3Z-9951. The red says made in Dominican Republic and the brown says made in the US.

I attached pics so you can get a better look. Thanks again! I can take more pics if you need them.

Unfortunately that's a really popular style with the fakers. The length of the strap isn't proof because straps, like hangtags, can be changed. The hyphen after the No is unusual - BUT I have a photo in my "genuine" files of a different style bag made 4 months later in the same plant with the same extra hyphen, so the chances are that it's just a production glitch - by December 2001 the extra hyphen had disappeared. A photo of the other creed I believe to be genuine is posted below.

The pictures aren't really showing me what you mean by "one is more square" especially with the bags just laid out flat like that. You could try stuffing them so the shapes are more obvious but even that might not help. It's almost impossible to spot fake classic leathers unless someone made a mistake and the most common and easiest to spot mistakes are in the creeds.

And we've said it before - it's really hard to compare bags from different plants, countries and years because small production changes may have been made along the way. Since you have the actual bags in front of you and those 2 are closer in their years of production than anything I'd have to compare them to, try stuffing them and then comparing them again, and you tell us what differences you're seeing.

Okay, thanks! Well, the brown seems bigger, the red seems smaller and heavier. I was concerned cause I never heard of a bag being made in DR from Coach. I will stuff it and take more pics. How do the creeds look to you?

Yes, Coach made bags in the DR. Both the creeds seem to be ok, but counterfeiters can copy creeds accurately too.

Yea, its tough! Coach is too easy to copy! Okay well I guess that's the best I can do, you gotta have hope! haha, I was wondering, can I take my red one into Coach will they be able to tell me something? To be honest, I kinda feel that sometimes the SA's aren't that aware. Bizarre.

But okay, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a fake. Well, I mean its as sure as we can be! Thanks for all your help, I will be stuffing them later and comparing.

Once again, thanks you're always so helpful.

I would NEVER recommend taking any bag, especially a classic or vintage leather bag, to a Coach store. Not only are 99 percent of the SAs completely clueless about older styles, but Coach has told their store staff that any bag mentioned as having been bought through Ebay should always be ID'd as fake.

Ooo! Thanks for the tip! I had no clue! Thanks for your help!

Haha-that's funny-only because I have a few vintage Coach bags that are probably older than ALOT of the SA's at Coach!!!

Can someone please authenticate this bag for me?
Thank You!

I'd have to see a clear, READABLE photo of the creed stamp, but what I'm seeing isn't making me happy. Style number 8968 doesn't come up at all, the year code looks like 1996 which was 2-3 years before the Bleecker line was made, the stretched-out leather at the top is a big red flag, the zipper installation is a mess and the zipper pull is fake and/ or not a type used by Coach, the hangtag is fake, and the poor purse especially the inside pocket looks like someone ran over it with a truck. Thye stitching at thye ends of the handles is also wrong.

The texture of the leather is also wrong and I think the insides of the strap handles are wrong too. Compare the details on this one to those on a GENUINE Bleecker in a slightly different style from a Trusted Seller:

It's very probably a fake, and NOT a good one.
