Please direct the buyer here because she needs to understand a few important points.

1. The time to have asked questions should have been before bidding and buying
2. If she didn't have time to authenticate beforehand, she could have come here before paying to ask about the item
3. Coach is the last place to go for authentication, especially when that request is showing an ebay listing!!

It's no secret that Coach hates ebay, doesn't want to see their bags being sold on ebay (or any other website besides their own partners) and they're known to LIE to customers like your buyer when they know an item was purchased online.

Your buyer should come and express her concerns and if it turns out that Coach lied to her, she owes you an apology (pending a pic of the creed) and should end the dispute.

(ANd this isn't even taking into account that she opened a dispute without having even received the bag!)

ETA: Here's the listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-AUTH-CO...594?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item2a155f6082

i didnt take any photo of the coach creed and the bag is already in transit :(

sigh i feel just so rotten receiving that email from her and the paypal dispute thing.

and yes thats my ebay listing! she is not even a newbie ebayer which makes me even more angry!
Please refer your buyer here because she needs to read some of the many posts on the forum that describe exactly what you've described.

Have you contacted the buyer since she filed the dispute to refer her here? If she refuses to listen to reason and refuses to rescind the dispute, we can advise you on how to fight it. But I'm hopeful that it's just a case of a buyer blindly trusting what she was told.

It's important that in any future listings, you include a picture of the creed.

i have replied her that the bag is guaranteed authentic and even directed to another ebay listing with the same Maggie grey bag.

she has not gotten back to me - possibly because of time difference. she said she didnt know the item was in Singapore and also cited postage cost issue...i never asked her to top up for postage so i also feel that reason was just lame.

I don't know if it's something you have control over, but your listing the way it's showing on Ebay.com on the US site just lists your location as "default, SG, United States". It's not clear at all that the item location is Singapore. That needs to be clearly stated in your auctions - there shouldn't be any mention of "United States" under "item location". If that's an automatic entry by Ebay's software, it really needs to be changed and sellers in countries outside the US need to check and make sure their correct location is showing in their listings especially if they also sell and ship outside their own countries.

In a way, I don't blame the buyer for being upset because she may think you deliberately tried to hide where you were located.

(And speaking of posting locations, it would even be a big help if our tPF Forum members would list what country or city they live in when posting their personal information in their Profile. The information and advice we give will often be a bit different depending on a poster's location - remember, most of our Coach authenticators are in the US. Things like whether or not someone has access to Factory Outlet stores, what time of day it is in a poster's home country, how long it should take for a package to arrive, or even whether or not we measure an item in inches or centimeters depends on where a poster is located. But if it's not listed in their profiles or shown under their ID, we can't tell where they are and may give advice that doesn't help someone not living in the US.)

Ugh! From the pictures you've shown, the bag looks fine but a picture of the creed is necessary to be sure.

For those interested, the same goes for a number of the other designer-brand stores (LV for instance.) Not all do it, but if you happen to get a clerk that is particularly unhappy...TPf is still the best resource I've found so far, especially for "true" vintage items. Clerks in the designer stores GENERALLY don't pay attention to/understand the history of their brand's stock.

can someone please help me?

i just sold a gently used Maggie on ebay, and had only sent out the bag yesterday
buyer submitted a 'significantly not as described' dispute even though the bag have not reached her. she said she didnt realise i was in a different country - she's probably the only one who didnt notice since i sold other stuff as well.

she said she took pics to the coach store to verify and the girls tell her the bag is not real....i am just shocked! the bag is definitely authentic! how can this be?

please see my photos

Flowergal, as a regular eBayer myself, I would suggest you be as clear about where you ship FROM as you are about non-affiliation with Coach. In your seller location block, "SG, United States" might confuse people. Sometimes it will help prevent misunderstandings if you also explain your shipping polices and timelines. -- EDIT -- OR JUST LISTEN TO HYACINTH WHO IS FASTER THAN I AM!!!! :D

thank you Hyacinth & Uhoh...i do agree but it was unfortunately something that was wrongly created and never corrected.

the thing is she could have asked me all these questions before bidding or after she won and not after paying and when i have sent out the bag...that is really unfair to me as a seller. i cannot retrieve the bag from the post office since it has been shipped out and on the way to her.

honestly, i think i sell more on the US site than Singapore and so far there has been no issues. besides, the ebay winning email to buyer and invoice both show my Singapore address

just really sad how all this turned out. bag out of my hands and buyer asking for refund when she hasnt even gotten the bag!

I have 2 comments.

1. You can list your items on whichever ebays you choose but still state the accurate item location. Instead of listing on ebay.sg, list on ebay.com

2. I think you can recall the package though I don't know how it works. There are others who have done so and you might be more apt to get advice if you post the question in the ebay forum: http://forum.purseblog.com/ebay-forum/

Again, please direct the buyer to this thread and maybe we can allay her concerns.

I have been reading through some posts and fell upon this one. Are all the bags that are this style with #8k49 fake? Just want to write that one down if it is!

Thanks!
Not necessarily. There's a legitimate gallery tote, 8K49 (pic below) but there are "good" fakes of that style also.

One of the reasons we need to see lots of pictures of all details of everything that might have come with an item is because since everything can be faked, there are often mistakes (aka "red flags") shown in some of the other pictures that are things that no authentic item will ever have. And that's the case with this one. (I'll PM you.)

This is a Coach's picture of 8K49:

K. I thought it looked identical, so I was going back and forth. Some of what I have been doing is putting the serial # into ebay and see how many come up of that number. If all are the same and there are a lot of them I figure ok. If there are any in the bunch that are different, I stay away. I actually bought one and now I am nervous.

At the time there must have been a lot. Now not so much.

Thanks for your help. I am trying!
