The first one's definitely fake.

The second one looks genuine - Penelope Sig Hippie, either F14689 or maybe 15704:

Hello I've been told to post my orginal thread here:

This is my first coach that I bought on ebay. I admit I dont know much about Coach so as soon as I seen the bag ( via skype as im away from home) was very happy with it however since been looking on ebay and noticed theres many fakes and am not sure if mine is one.

Everytime I google the name of bag and code it only comes up with replica websites in China, im so upset at the thought it may be a fake as at the moment am not even sure if its a real coach design.

Think the desigh is a 'Coach Chelsea Satchel Bag'
Store tag has information: F14017 SV/ bamboo

Came in Coach carrier bag from store. Zip marked YKK. Non of the hardware has coach on it. Coach stamp on front. Coach serial number inside on stamp.

Actually, it's impossible to tell if as bag is genuine without close-up pictures of the actual bag. Please post them when you can.

And STOP reading those ridiculous "authenticity guides": on the internet! Whether or not a style shows up on Google doesn't prove a thing, Ebay listings almost never show up, and many Coach style especially when the second half of the serial starts with "F" were made for the Factory outlets and won't appear on any websites. There are more fakes on Google than genuine bags. If you're going to Search anywhere, search Ebay, NOT Google. There are 7 currently listed on Ebay US:

Didnt relise it was only sold in factory- explains google then

There were 4 in the collection - Station Bag, Duffle Sac, Waverly Bag and the Daypack.

I agree that the bag in the listing looks okay. If it makes you feel more comfortable, please post pictures of the bag you receive once you get it.

Thank you also beenburned for your time in reading and replying to my post.

My mother said she would take some pictures of the bag for me tomorrow as I wont be able to do it until this time next week when I am home so hopefully if she will be able to load the pictures and I will have them on here in the next day or two.

I was wondering if this is an authentic coach bag i only paid 20.00 so if not than thats ok its still a cute bag.I tried taking a pic of the creed but the lighting is not too good but here's what it says on the creed for numbers.
No E1020-F15142 and its a patent leather not sure if coach ever really made bags out of that type material.

I'll leave the question about whether or not that particular bag is genuine to someone more experienced with newer bags (it looks fine to me), but as for whether or not Coach ever used patent leather??? Good heavens, girl, have you ever looked at their website? I suggest checking out www.coach.com before worrying about a question that's so easy to answer. Note that this particular bag won't be on the site since it was made last year just for the Factory Outlet stores and only currently available styles are on coach.com, but I doubt if you'll find any shortage of patent leather bags.

You also could check Ebay, there are over a hundred of that same style number, 15142, listed:

I don't think you need to worry. And for 20 dollars, you seem to have a nice Coach in a great color. :smile1:
