Thanks!

So if I have a style number, enter it into ebay and a bunch of the same looking ones come up, is it probably authentic? Thanks!

It's a genuine Neo Duffle Sac from 1998.
And yes, most of the time if you find other identical styles listed on Ebay, it's a good sign.

You might want to ask about the condition of the fabric though - that neoprene material would sometimes start to come loose a bit from the backing and you'd start to see wrinkles like the ones in the second picture under the Coach plaque. It may just be due to the way the bag is shown or stuffed for photos but if that's happening all over the bag it can't be reversed. With the Neo styles, it's always a good idea to get photos of the entire outside of the bag whenever possible.

These 4 older bags were part of a lot purchased at an out of town live auction. The lot had some very nice authentic NYC era bags in it, and some others that I wasn't sure about... these are 4 of the questionable ones:

Item 1: Old Spectator of some sort? # 002-9003 "Made in the United States"
Photo Link: http://photobucket.com/oldbag1

Item 2: Older Black Drawstring Lightweight? Has some age, very nice soft, light leather, but style is not familiar to me, creed is very difficult to read #705-5743 "Made in USA"
Photo Link: http://photobucket.com/oldbag2

Item 3: Gray flap has a lot of age/wear to it - COACH logo only, no creed
Photo Link:http://photobucket.com/oldbag3

Item 4: Black Taft? Creed hard to shoot #H6D-9980
Photo Link:http://photobucket.com/oldbag4

Thanks in advance for your thoughts on these :smile1:

1- genuine Riding Bag Spectator style # 6750 from around 1989
2- genuine Shoulder Pouch style 4025 from the Lightweights line, probably from 1989-1990
3- genuine, was called a Classic Shoulder Bag in the mid to late 1980s but the original name was Classic Pouch when this one was made, probably the late 1960s to mid 1970s. Style number was 9170 - the "original Coach bag" is how Coach refers to it in their 1985 catalog.
4- genuine Taft Bag 1996

1- the pictures are terrible but the bag looks ok
2- looks ok but more opinions would help
3- looks ok, Soho Suede Small Hobo from 2005
4- looks ok, more opinions would help
5- ok, Ergo Small Zip from 2002

Thank you so much for authenticating these! I will wait for more opinions on #2 as per your advice.

I thought the same thing about the first bag--I'm worried that there might be a lot of marks on the base of the bag because it sort of looks like it from the photos--I'll have to ask for a better photo of that one.

EDIT: I'm wondering how this ergo tote looks (last one for a while, I promise)

Comments: It's really hard for me to make out the white creed, so I'm not sure that the photos are sufficient.

Good idea, that sateen-type fabric picked up dirt easily and with such small and poor-quality photos it's impossible to see the details.

Yes, I learned that the hard way already. I bought a gold sateen Hampton tote that was supposed to have a light spill on the base but the corners were almost black with dirt and the base and sides were a bit dirty. I searched the forum and found a suggestion to use Shout spray. The Shout cleaned it up a great deal (and completely removed the spill stain) thank goodness.

Also, I added another bag above for you to authenticate but finished the edit after you replied. Sorry about that!

Holy cow. So much for using them for parts bags!
Thank you for all of the great info, Bag 3 is epecially interesting, how cool is that! I better put its hangtag back on (removed because I thought the bag might be a faux).
And the Taft... Yay! :. Doing happy dance ::

You're welcome :smile1:

Interesting that the subject of the original Coach bags also came up yesterday in a post about Coach's triple-secret "archive" located in the same building as their Bleecker Street store - check the main Coach forum for the original blurb on the Classic Pouch:

It's almost impossible to give an opinion on the Ergo, but I don't think that style was faked much, if at all. If you bid, the usual "pay with Paypal funded by a credit card" advice still applies.

OK. Thanks a lot! I have been inputting the style numbers into the ebay search and was hoping that was a way I could check without always coming here so much:)
