Comments: I know that 17996 isn't the correct style number for the Stewardess bag, but the seller doesn't show a picture of the creed. I emailed and asked for one. If she sends one to me I'll post it here. Also, is it just me or is the strap too short?

Wait for other opinions on this.

Although I'm not familiar with the bag, there are several other websites and seller blogs where the same style number and pictures are used.

The style number does appear to be correct and it's discussed here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach/dimensions-on-stewardess-bag-incorrect-696668.html

But since the pictures used in kitten1061's listing aren't her own, I don't recommend sellers who don't do their own work and show their own pics of the actual items.

I agree with BeenBurned. Ask the seller for a picture of the actual bag she's selling AND a photo of the creed. Why can't these sellers take their own pictures? It's infuriating!!!!

17996 does appear to be the correct style number for the new one - probably because Coach changed the dimensions and some of the other details of the original bag.

Actually, we can tell you what that style number is supposed to be but without pictures, especially a photo of the creed, we can't authenticate it. Fakes often have valid serial numbers, sometimes matching correctly to the style of bag they're on and other times not matching. That's why pics are necessary.

The specs of the new "classic" Stewardess Bag 17996 are still up at Net-a-Porter. This is what they show, and yes, the strap is a lot shorter:
Width 11" / 28cm
Height 11" / 29cm
Depth 4" / 11cm

But like the others have said, the seller always needs to show the bag she's actually selling.

If you're looking for the heavy vintage Coach leather, the new "classics" are NOT the styles to buy - a lot of posters have been disappointed in the leather quality too.
