That said, all the bags are genuine. The second and fourth aren't considered vintage since it they were made in 1998.

I have no idea where the seller finds so many old satchels. I'm sure some of them have been heavily "reconditioned" and I would worry about re-dyed bags. Older bags that have been used will always show evidence of wear along the bottom piping.

The seller's claim that the included dustbag is a $32 value is nonsense since those are included free with all boutique purchases and aren't even available to purchase separately. And for someone who sells so many, it seems like pure laziness why he doesn't even try to learn the correct names - Coach has NEVER used the term "Speedy" for any of its bags, and a "Doctor" bag implies that it has a hinged top that opens completely.

There are a lot of things that can be done to an older bag depending on what problems it has. Re-dyeing is the biggest. Sometimes gently rubbing an out of the way area on a bag with some conditioner worked into a cloth will make some of the dye rub off. Personally I would never buy a reconditioned bag since I want to know exactly what's been done to it and do any rehab work myself.

As I told another poster, buying a vintage bag that supposedly never was used isn't neccessarily a good thing, it depends on how the bag has been stored and the climate it's been stored in. The bag could be drying out or mildewing especially if no one's checked on its condition or done anything to condition the leather for 20 or 30 years.

I've actually just read quite a bit about this seller on this forum....she sells a TON of satchels! Seems a tad dubious but I guess it's an individual judgement call. Thanks so much for sharing your big brain Hyacinth!

My posts don't say that - it's only fake if the second half of the serial is only 2 or 3 numbers, a genuine vintage bag can start with 101-. This one is 3 plus 2 numbers according to the seller so it's a Made In Korea fake. This one also has incorrect strap mountings and what looks like a non-Coach zipper pull on the outside zipper although we'd need to see a close-up to be sure.

Usually I don't recommend reporting something based just on a serial number posted by the seller unless there's a creed photo to verify it, but it doesn't seem likely that the seller would have left out TWO numbers from the serial number they posted. And 101-25 is a really common number in Korean fakes. So please report if you can.
I just noticed in my messages that I messaged this same seller about another bag yesterday asking for a creed picture and she said she sent it but really didn't.

was this one a fake also? Is she a seller to be aware of? I did ask her where this was made before you answered my last question, and she said Korea. I told her Korea didn't make any Coach purses.

The bag in the link isn't the bag the seller said was made in Korea, is it? I'm not sure which one you're asking about. The black tote in the link does need a creed photo but other than that it looks ok and the serial number she gives in the listing isn't one of the Korean numbers.

This wallet looks fine. Other opinions are welcome.

ETA: I see that Hyacinth already posted.
It really looks good on the pictures. That's why I was convinced to buy the wallets. But when I actually saw & touched it, my guts tell me it's not authentic. I have read from other sites that the presence of glue used to hold leathers together is a tell tale sign that a Coach is a fake. I need a confirmation so I can return & refund from the seller... Here is the link:

And another one w/ some glue smudges:

No. lol! I just noticed I had messaged that same person about that other bag and she said she sent me pics but didn't. I am sorry to confuse you.

So I told her about this current bag with the serial #101-25 that I didn't think Coach had bags made in Korea, and she answered "They have for 70 years." I thought I read (I have the print out) that Coach had bags made in Korea.

Coach has never made bags in Korea. Which printout are you talking about? They have stores in Korea and have bought leather products from Korea and have sued half a dozen Korean manufacturers for trademark violations though.

When you're talking about information you found on another site, please provide the site or page URL. I can't explain why the information's wrong if I can't find it to read it.

Thanks .. appreciate the note on the collection's name. I was looking at the coach website but could not find the design.

Yes the quality of the material and stitching does look real. I'll wait for a few more opinions.

Don't EVER depend on the Coach website! They only show bags that are CURRENTLY available for sale (most styles are deleted after 2 to 4 months!) and they NEVER show styles made just for the Factory Outlets. Yours might be an outlet bag, there are at least a dozen listed on Ebay.

Your are right. I bought a full leather tote from a FO and could not find it in their websites. This was in 2005 (the store clerk actually assured me that all coach bags are produced in the US). Good to know that they delete the postings after 2 to 4 months. Thanks for the info.

I do love the quality of their craftsmanship. Value for money compared to the European brands.

Sorry about that! I printed out this article:
http://reviews.ebay.com/Coach-Serial-Numbers-the-Basic-Facts_W0QQugidZ10000000034886433

This was the paragraph I referenced:
Coach serial numbers will usually have at least 7 digits with only one exception - items made for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta. Any Coach item that has only 5 or fewer digits in the serial number, and / or is missing the “No” in front of the number, is almost 100 percent certain of being fake. If the creed also says “Made in Korea” the “fake” percentage goes up to 100 percent. Every Coach made in or after 1994 will always have at least three digits in the first half of the number including a one or two-number year code in the center position. If there’s just a letter and a number, or only 2 letters and no number, the item is FAKE - no exceptions. “NT-4903” is the most common example but there are dozens more.

So that was what I was referring to when I said my print out:)

This was our conversations:

Dear grahamcrckr,
Do you have a picture of the creed and where does it say it is made from?

THanks!

Dear jjmckillip62,

It is made in Korea, the picture will not take. It is imprinted into the leather.

- grahamcrckr

Dear grahamcrckr,
Hmm. I didn't think korea made any of the coach bags.

THanks!

- jjmckillip62

Dear jjmckillip62,

They have been for over 70 years. Check google.

Thanks for you interest.

I hope this all helps explains things:) And hopefully I didn't make a mistake!
