Thank-you so much for your help Hyacinth!

Holy Cow......here I thought I had found a really reputable seller. I read a whole whack of the comments left for her and they were so glowing. She also had a my poupette stamp of approval and went so far as to add them and caroldiva under the bag listing which is how I even came across websites to authenticate. I was just about to make her an offer on the Coach bag but now I'm a little nervous......drat I really wanted that bag! If you have the time, could you take a look at the listing?

And this was the other bag that I was going to bid on.....if you can share any info on this seller that would be much appreciated ;-)) Her name is cmgsalang

I'm really not very ebay savvy and I thank you so much for including all the links. I had no idea that all of these tools were available ;-))

Both bags are authentic.

Both are the "Duffle Sac".

The 1st one is from 1997.

The 2nd one is from 1994.

As long as you pay using your credit card you're fine.

Thanks so much for your help DemRam!!

I've done about 6 hrs worth of research on how to differentiate between a real and fake vintage Coach....and I'm sure I only know a tenth of what so many of you here know. I actually wasn't very drawn to Coach until I saw a vintage Duffle at a consignment store but it wasn't in good condition so I thought I'd try ebay. I've heard horror stories about bait and switch scams so I wanted to get some second opinions about certain sellers. I had about 12 or so bags that I was watching but after having done the research it turns out only 2 of them are real.....it's amazing how many good fakes there are!! Thank goodness I came across this site yesterday! What an amazing resource ;-)) It's so great to be able to help each other out! ;-D

I've read a lot about Serial#'s but not so much about registration #'s.....I've seen quite a few creeds with the #'s glued on or at least raised not imprinted but an entire patch. That must mean it's a fake......has anyone heard of coach ever having done this?

an example :

I'll try to find a better example ;-)

Yes, my post here states that Coach DID use glued-on strips with the numbers on them.

Please DON'T report any of these unfamiliar designs as fake - post them in this thread for authentication. There's nothing wrong with the listings you asked about. BTW, registration number and serial number are used interchangeably most of the time.

Again, please be sure to use the requested format when asking for authenticity. We ask that so we can easily track chronic sellers of fake bags and can check if a reported fake has been relisted.

Also, if you've been reading most of the online "authenticity Guides" on the internet and Ebay, a LOT of that accumulated information is outdated or just plain wrong. Please don't depend on any of it when trying to determine authenticity. There are no simple "rules" that prove any Coach is genuine, and dozens of details to check to see if it's fake. Please post the requested information about the individual bags you need to know about - don't depend on anyone's Guides, even mine. There are always exceptions to every accepted Rule.

Thank you Been Burned amd Hyacinth :)
You're welcome.
Hi,

I bought this but am very skeptical about it.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/260836869869?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Here are extra pictures:

The bottom is what is throwing me off. It is kind of loose around the bottom if that makes sense.

Thanks!
It looks fine as far as authenticity goes. There could be a quality issue.

I don't see any problems. And without actually seeing it it's hard to know what kind of problem it has. It may have a manufacturing or design flaw but I doubt very much if it's fake.

In fact there are quite a few listed on Ebay.

The bottom of it looks like this one:

and I just thought it look odd. Like not polished.

But great!! I am so happy!

Thanks!
