I don't normally have problems clicking on links...but the links you posted shut down my computer.

The bag is probably fine although I'm not about to click on the picture AGAIN to see the year.

It's the "City Bag" and you can find the year in the first set of letters/numbers.

:smile1:

It's from 2000 and looks ok.

Inside of the purse on the bottom, you cannot see a seam, but on the wristlet, you can see a seam.

The bag is fake. Wait on the wristlet but it is probably fake too.

The wristlet is also fake. The leather and stitching on the strap are completely wrong and the strap is thin and flimsy-looking and was definitely not made by Coach.

Item: COACH NIB KEY RING, CHAIN, CHARM, ROUND MEDALLIONS
Listing number: 260749686725
Seller: 77kentuckygirl

Comments: I thought the medallions are supposed to be brass (gold) not metal. Please advise.

FAKE. EVERY metal keychain from this seller 77kentuckygirl is either fake or very questionable - I would't buy anything from her. Her Feedback and Completed "Coach" metal keychains are also fake although the leather ones may be ok.

Comments: I am suspicious of ioffer, but this person has good feedback.

I would NEVER trust Feedback left on iOffer. Most of the buyers know or suspect they're buying fakes, all they care about is buying cheap. And the Scribble bikini in the Completed listings is a well-known cheap fake.

She's also sold a TON of what looks like fake tissue and boxes and her listings are a sea of copyright violations and counterfeits.

DON'T buy name-brand items from iOffer!

Thanks for the response, Hyacinth. Love your show, too ;)

Wonder why they bother putting "authentic" when most don't really care about anything but the price.

Why would a crook care if they lie or not?

And auction sites like Ebay and iOffer require the sellers to state that the item is authentic, since the sites figure that covers their butts legally and shifts the responsibility for selling fake goods onto the seller and not the "venue". What the seller says doesn't mean a darned thing when it comes to authenticity. Rule # One of The Rules to Bid By says that "Sellers Can Lie."

Sellers can LIE.
Photos can be STOLEN.
Feedback can be FAKED.
Ebay "Buying Guides" can be WRONG.

Please authenticate this bag. Keeping fingers crossed that I have a real one this time. :D

Estate Sale purchase. Is that a bullet on the creed?

I can't tell if it is navy blue or black.

It looks ok. Probably black, the color tended to look like a really dark blue-black after a few years.

Yeah and buyers can lie, too. I sold an old D&B on the Bay (bought it in dept. store), buyer didn't like, claimed it was fake (left feedback to that effect), but I wouldn't give her a refund. Said she took it to D&B store and they verified its fakeness. I had proof, 'Bay didn't give her the refund, but the negative feedback stands :P

Yep, a lot of buyers have scammed and basically blackmailed honest sellers, and since Ebay doesn't allow sellers to leave Negative FB for buyers anymore the slimeballs usually get away with it.

When a buyer pulls that kind of scam you might want to consider adding a post to tPF's Ebay forum, either to the Blocked Bidder list for non-paying buyers or just as a stand-alone post to warn other Ebay sellers and also so the buyer's name or ID will show up in a Google search.

Sometimes you can get a Negative removed but it involves multiple phone calls and a lot of luck and patience. All too often it's a waste of time unless you mamnage to get an Ebay rep who actually knows their job and cares about doing it right. Not many of those left, unfortunately.

Good idea on the forum. Should've thought of that myself! Did speak to one rep. who sympathized, but wouldn't remove. More persistence might pay off. If I ever want to unload another bag I don't use, I'd hate for people to think I sell fakes.

I understand why Ebay wanted buyers to be able to feel free to leave honest feedback, but there's no protection for sellers now.

Funny thing was that she (supposedly) lived in Miami and there are no D&B stores in FL, only outlets. And none are close to Miami.

The first was called a Premier Case and was from around 2001. It was designed to carry a Palm Pilot and the Velcro was to hold the PP in place, the other half of the Velcro would have been attached to the back of the PDA.
Second is a Madison French Purse, and third is a Polished Calfskin French Purse. They're probably all from right around 2000 give or take a year or two.
WoW! It's fun seeing what you know or find out. I'm truly impressed. I really like the red wallet. It's very nice. I remember Palm Pilots. Smart phones have replaced them, but I bet a good piece of velcro on the back of an iPhone would work. I'll have to test it out.

Thanks again. That's all for a while..

Hmm. Why do you think it's fake?

I think it's okay.

AFAIK, the denim (indigo) one had a pocket on the front but the khaki did not have a pocket.

Can you post pictures of the back and inside of the wristlet?
