#1 is fake and I don't believe seller dancinfeet751 would know an authentic bag if it bit her on the nose.

Notice that none of her listings use the brand name in the titles. She has a "handbag black with tags" that has "LV' all over it and hanging tags that are only on fakes.

Don't buy from dancinfeet751!

#2: Looks fine.

Thanks Beenburned and Hyacinth, you gals are awesome!

It looks ok. :smile1:

The incorrect month code is probably a case of "not getting the memo" or not being able to read it.

Awesome :yahoo:Thanks for looking at the additional pictures. Now I can post the cleaned up version of the bag. It turned out gorgeous!!

For my education which part of the serial number is the month code? The I for September?

Yes, it's always the first digit but ONLY in items from 1994 or later, but Coach plants were supposed to use "J" for September. Any bag with an "i" always needs to be looked at very carefully, and many turn out to be fake.

That video, as well as most of the authentication guides on ebay and the internet are not good resources for verifying authenticity. Most are incomplete, have outdated information, have 1/2 truths, or have just plain wrong info.

Additionally, for just about every Coach "rule," there are exceptions though many guides don't mention exceptions.

The matching pattern on the seams are generally referring to center front and/or center back seams, but there are even exceptions to that rule.

The unmatched seam you are referring to is one of the side seams and it's difficult if not impossible to have a pattern match at every seam. Thus, sides and bottoms often don't match.

someone authentic this for me? if its fake how do i get e-bay to cancel the ad?
My wifes going to kill me! :(

thanks for any and all help!

Don't sweat it yet. So far, it looks as though it's probably okay but if you can get the seller to send you a clear picture of the creed, it would help.

Why do you think it's fake?

because the c's don't match up through the seem?

that's what this video states: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBobNbB2noA&feature=player_embedded

but I'm clueless!

Well i asked for more pictures hopefully i get some. I'm just stressing because i've already won the auction. from what my good eyes can read the last4 digits on the creed number thing is 0005 but who knows.

Generally, we can't authenticate based on the serial number because the counterfeiters can make fakes with valid serial numbers. That's why I asked to see a clear picture of the creed (head on).

So far, though, the bag seems to be okay.

She wont send me a picture.... seems real fishy so far.

Thanks for all your help.

Please refer the seller to this thread. As a seller of Coach items, she needs to learn how to be a good seller.

I know that the style number on your bag is correct for that style and based on my experience, judging by the pictures in the listing, the style of the bag and other knowledge gleaned from years of looking and using Coach, I'm pretty sure that the bag is fine.

I do agree that the seller should be sending pictures as requested because that's what good sellers do to prove their bags are authentic as well as proving that the pictures are her own.

Based on the problems you're having with the seller, I'd be reluctant to recommend lprincess2011 but to give her the benefit of the doubt, as a newbie seller with just 2 feedbacks, my guess is that she doesn't understand the importance of lots of pictures and responses to reasonable buyer requests.

Coach can't verify ANYTHING from the serial number. The only way to tell if something's genuine is for an expert to see the item itself or good clear photos of the important areas. And Coach store employees have no training whatsoever in verifying authenticity even when they have the item right in front of them.

I just got off the phone with coach and the lady insisted the serial number was for a blue and brass bag. or brass and blue defiantly not pink. I'm curious how they break down the number as in what part of the number means what. if this lady at coach is correct this bag is a fake and needs to be reported. I'm not a happy camper right now!

The lady at Coach who you spoke to is WRONG!!

Please don't jump to conclusions!! I told you shortly after you posted over 24 hours ago that I didn't see any red flags.

In fact, here's another listing that is neither blue (as you were told by Coach) nor is it pink (as you purchased) but it is authentic:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Authentic-Used-...091?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item2eb361ddf3

Before you improperly accuse a seller of breaking the law and selling counterfeit items, you need to be 100% sure that what you're alleging is true.

And at this point, we DO NOT KNOW THAT!!
