The creed is the leather patch inside the bag that had the information on how it was made, the material, the serial number, etc. It's usually sewn onto the inside back wall pocket, or in some leather bags, it's actually embossed right into the leather of the inside leather pocket.

Thank you for the reply. I will ask from the sellers now.

I'll be back!

Much Appreciated!

Hi Beenburned,

That's the same picture as is in the listing.

The bag is probably okay but the creed picture needs to be taken using the macro function (for closeups) because that picture is too blurry.

Oops Sorry, didn't notice about that. I'll check with her again if she's willing to send me a sharper image.

Tks once again!

This is the first one of these I've seen in this style - I've seen bags, but not totes.

Item: Coach 9763 White Leather Tote Handbag

Seller: rkstarwars

Any immediate red flags to look for when I'm trolling? This seller seems pretty well established, so I'm hoping it's authentic.

Also, my daughter is receiving her Master's Degree as a paralegal this spring and I was hoping to find her an awesome lawyer's bag as a graduation gift. The only trouble is I am clueless regarding what to look for/run screaming away from in the vintage leather lines. And, like always, I'm looking for some basics to weed out the number I have to bring here to be auth.

Thanks so much!

It's authentic and is one of the exceptions to the "signature rule."

Comments: COULD THIS BE FOR REALS? THANKS.

The seller says they were purse hangtags, but except for only one line of bags from 10 years ago Coach has never used that style of metal hangtag on a bag or accessory. Even their multicolor metal tags will always have that linear border or cartouche around the Coach name. The only exception that I know of were the Girlie bags, and the tags on those didn't come in a dozen colors to match the bag, they only came in black enamel AFAIK.

Coach also made a keychain during the same time, 2000-2002, that's the right size and design but again I can only find it listed in three colors in the catalogs, red. black or purple. They weren't even making bags in most of those 13 colors during this time so I can't see where so many colors of hangtags would have come from, not to mention why anyone would buy 13 bags all the same style but different colors.

It's remotely possible that they made a limited set of multicolor keychains but I've never seen it, or any of the colors in that listing in that style except for the basic colors, red, black and purple. If anyone's ever seen a genuine Coach set in those 13 colors, please let me know.

There's no proof either way if those are genuine or fake, sorry. Fake seems a bit more likely but that's just my opinion, and Coach has made limited items before that are almost never seen in the retail or secondary market.

Hi. It looks good but it has alot of issues. That piping poking out the corner is one major issue. The edges are very frayed too. Also it is mainly canvas.

Hello: ) can someone please authenticate this coach briefcase? it seems like too good a price to be real, but Im not familiar enough with coach briefcases to make any kind of call on authenticity. Thanks ladies!

Yes. There are lines of bagw with that kind of wire in the piping. It tends to wear through with heavy use. So any time you are looking at bags with piping around the corners, you want to see if it is worn through and see how it looks.

ahh ok. See I never thought coach used metal piping in their bags so thats what made me question the authenticity. Thanks BB!:smile1:

Just a correction - the hangtags on the Girlie bags DID come in different colors but all the ones in the catalogs are all darker shades like purple, brown, navy and black. No signs of pink, yellow or chartreuse. It looks like the tags were made to match the darkest trim on the bag or would have just been black.

The shape of the "eyelet" at the top of the tags in the listing matches the Girlie Bag tags rather than the keychain so unless we can determine that hangtags were made for the Girlies in all those colors, the authenticity of those tags is still doubtful or at least questionable.

Here's a listing for a Girlie Clip Bag that shows the hangtag details:

I have a quick question (before I post my pics)....

My first Coach bag was given to me Christmas '99 from my sister. It's a dual-question of authenticity AND the name/id of the bag. Where should I post my inquiry? At this thread or the "Id this Coach" thread?

I really don't want to be a pest, but I'm dying to figure out the name of my bag and I want to make sure the bag is authentic...though I'm 98% sure the bag is the real McCoy, since back then, my sister did have a friend who worked at a Coach boutique, and if memory serves, she bought the bag from her friend.
