Hi Everyone,

I just found your site--a few days too late, I fear! I purchased this Coach cross body bag (link to photos below) on ebay a few days ago. After reading numerous posts I'm beginning to think I've been had! If that's the case I want to make sure that I get a refund and the seller doesn't keep selling fakes to other newbies like me! Any responses are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Item: NWT COACH PENELOPE HIPPIE LEATHER PURSE HANDBAG 14679
Listing number: (sale has ended)
Seller: smparment
Link: (sale has ended)
Comments: There are no YKK marks on zipper and no coach stamp on rings attaching strap. (I didn't know to look for either of these until AFTER I visited this site. *sigh*)
Photos are here:

I'm happy to post others, if needed--just let me know.

Thanks so much!

Item: COACH Embossed Exotic Large Charm Tote Bone 14838 NWT
Listing number: 180553706445
Seller: treylite
Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/COACH-Embossed-...445?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item2a09d6ebcd
Comments: I have concerns about this bag because the creed doesn't appear to be cut as perfect as I've seen on bags that I know are authentic, but I'm not sure if I'm just over analyzing that. Also, would sellers add a double circle stamping to make it look like it came from an outlet and seem more authentic?

I'm really wanting one of these bags, so I'm having trouble objectively looking at the auctions out there. :shame:

Thanks so much for your opinions! :urock:
Unfortunately, this seller doesn't show enough pictures in any of her listings. With regard to this bag, there are just 3 pictures, one of which is a stolen stock photo.

Using stock photos is wrong and in fact, some of the seller's listings show no other pictures except the stock photo. In those listings, there's no telling what the buyer can expect to receive.

I don't know where you're getting your information about YKK zippers and Coach stamps on the rings, but whatever guides you've been reading are incorrect.

Although Coach does sometimes use YKK zippers, they also use other brands of zippers. Additionally, 99% of fakes have zippers that are marked with YKK. (Evidently, the counterfeiters have read the same bogus guides!)

And with regard to the Coach name being engraved on o-rings and hardware, generally, the more engravings, the more likely the bag is to be fake.

That said, the bag you won is authentic.

BeenBurned, I just saw this site posted on another thread, and they are saying it's real. Can you confirm?

That's the one exception to the rule. The site is only open once every month or 2 for a special Invitation Only sale - Coach sends out emails to selected buyers.

If you tried surfing or ordering from that page without one you wouldn't get far.

Well, I'm in, and I've ordered. Either I have a very popular name, or there is an open sale going on right now, because I had no problems at all with the order process.
