I questioned this one because the creed patch doesn't look quite right to me. A search of the number referenced returned -0- matches (by itself means, nothing, I know) - so the combo of the 2 makes me wonder.

1. Fake. You'll see that lovely *puke* lining on lots of fakes.

2. The pouch looks okay but it came from the outlet and you're correct; it's not currently on Coach's website.

3. The creed doesn't look right to me either. Please wait for other opinions. (Note that this is a well-faked style so don't buy without authenticating.)

4. Fake. This is a relisting of the same fake that is in her completed listings:

So, is it safe to assume that *any* bag I see with that puky lining should be considered fake until proved otherwise?

I have 2 tonal bags and the colors were wrong on #4.

I'm not buying these, trolling to report fakes. I'm sure to find more, because I just searched for "rare" and "limited edition".

This one is fake too.

You can report this for fake and also for authenticity disclaimer.

Sellers cannot disclaim knowledge of authenticity because "it was a gift" or because they "inherited it from a rich relative" or because they "bought from an estate sale.

Sellers have the responsibility to verify authenticity before listing or they can't sell the item. It's ebay policy and more important, it's the law.

DO NOT REPORT! Coach made several styles of bags that are a vinyl/PVC coated fabric. These listings appear to be okay.

They appear to be either style 2152 or 2153, similar styles in slightly different sizes.

The creed stitching and stamping on #3 looks really bad to me too. I might hesitate to report it but there's no way I'd even think of buying it.
The Carriage stamp doesn't look quite right either.

That pee-yellow shiny C fabric always means fake. As near as I can figure from the number of fakes we've seen with that lining in the last 5 years, there must have been something like 1.8 million yards of that fabric floating around various Chinese fakes-making plants. :graucho:

It came in other colors too but the yellow was most common. Coach HAS done some shiny linings but the real fabric has full-size Cs and has more of a dimensional look and a softer satiny shine where the fake fabrics look like cheap acetate.

And yes, any time someone says they got a bag as a gift, 97 percent of the time it's fake. The forums and blogs that cater to fakes sellers and distributors tell them to say that, and it's always a major red flag. Some of the stories they tell about the rich aunts, lifetime Best Friends, overly generous bosses, or cheating ex-spouses who gave them the bags as gifts are worthy of a Pulitzer prize for Literature in the Fiction category.
