Bunny, I'm thinking this might be one of the early Lightweights. There's no pic of this bag but my Fall Preview 1989 book shows a zipped Light Tote #4065 with the same squared O-rings on the strap handles and mentions using an industrial zipper. It also has the same kind of strap "extensions" going from the handles to the base of the bag. There's also a Travel Tote 4085 with the same features. And maybe the Lightweights used a lighter metal on the zipper pulls and just brass-plated them?

YokelMel, the Lightweights (which later became the Sohos) were a line of bags in which Coach DID use lighter and thinner leather and also lighter-weight hardware to keep the weight of the bags lower. A lighter-than-usual bag often is from this line which I think came out somewhere around 1987-1989 which would also fit in with your bag's serial number.

Bunny, just guessing that maybe the problem with the zipper could be one reason it's stamped as Irregular? Or maybe the zipper or pull might have been broken and replaced at one time. The industrial zipper on the inside is exactly what Coach would have used though.

I only have one Lightweight and it's a zip closure, not magnetic, but give me a little while to dig through the closet and move a few things out of the way - there might be something on it that will help.

Thank you Hyacinth!

I wanted to add, looking at the snap closer it does seem as if it might have been brass colored at one time but has rubbed off...not sure about the zipper pull.

Just my 2 Cents...I think the bag looks fine...though I've never seen the style before.

I only have 2 of the older lightweights and the interior zipper in one of mine has the identical silver zipper pull yet a brass zipper. The zipper on mine also doesn't zip to the end.

Sorry, but neither of mine have snaps to compare.

Hello,

I have been after a large satchel in purple for a long time. I now found this, but I suppose you experts would need more pics to authenticate? What pics shall I ask for?

Item name: Coach Bag Madison Sophia Satchel
Item number:250718079431
seller: dnamktg888
link: http://cgi.ebay.com/Coach-Bag-Madis...431?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item3a5ff649c7

Many thanks in advance.
There's no way to authenticate a listing where the only picture is the stock photo stolen from Coach. She also plagiarized Coach's description for this listing and her other Sophia bags, current and completed.

Sheesh, I wouldn't do business with this seller.

It appears that she also removes hangtags from the bags she sells and sells them separately.

And what the heck is this in all her listings? That's not allowed!

An additional 1% is charged to the final price plus shipping for non-US credit cards used on PayPal.

Yes, Beenburned, I was also getting suspicious about this listing, especially when I saw the line you just quoted about the additional charge. The hunt will go one... But as always, I'm grateful for your very fast response.

I found this at one of my many thrift stores around. I don't pay much attention to coach wallets but, thought I would give this one a try. Is it authentic and does anybody know which collection it is from?? Any and all information is greatly appreciated!

Hyacinth already confirmed that all these listings are fake.

I just want to add that hannasmomjo sneaky, mixing authentic and fake. She uses "authentic" to describe those that are genuine so she knows the difference.

She also sold another similar fake Coach wristlet:

And this POS was in her feedback:

Do not buy from hannasmomjo

Thank you, BeenBurned!

The details seem ok but the design of the wallet - the way it's made, with the full checkbook-style interior but a Ziparound coin section and a short front flap - is very unusual and I don't remember seeing it before. Maybe someone else will recognise it. Meanwhile I'll look through more files and see if I can find it.
