Are there any Coach authentication services out there like there are for LV and other bags that someone can point me to? I've done searches and can't seem to locate any. For the first time in over a decade, I've purchased a Coach bag on Ebay that turned out to be a fake. I know that Ebay and probably PayPal are going to require me to substantiate that this bag is not the real deal and I'm perfectly willing to pay someone to take a look at it to provide me with something in writing stating that it's not an authentic Coach bag. So far, the seller has not seen fit to get back to me. So, it looks like I'm going to have to go the "report an item not as described" route. Ugh. As most of you probably already know, Coach stores will not provide anything in writing. All the store staff said was that they hoped I didn't pay too much for "that nasty fake." How mortifying! I don't know whether Authentic-luxury.com is still doing authentications. You can ask them.

Please post a link to the listing as well as the seller's ID. (Use the format requested in the first thread of the post.)

We like to look at the seller's history.

You're absolutely correct about the bag being an awful fake.

The seller needs to know that if she's going to shop at estate sales, she's responsible for authenticating her items.

Her feedback is already bad and in this case, her lack of willingness to do the right thing with you has (IMO) earned another negative feedback.

The seller is clearly circumventing ebay fees. Notice the shipping charge on the item you're asking about! She's charging $149 to ship a bag that would cost a maximum of $10 to ship.

By selling cheap and having buyers pay excessive shipping, seller is cheating ebay out of fees.

See the following completed listings.

She previously sold the same bag you're asking about. The shipping charge was also $149. It appears that the buyer probably backed out of the purchase when she realized what the seller was doing.

my goodness! good thing I mentioned it here and good thing I checked thoroughly the deets of her ad. she emailed me that shipping to where I am would be an extra $40! so that means $189 for shipping alone!?!:faint:

Just so you know, she cannot change the shipping. (She could reduce the cost but cannot raise it higher than it shows in the listing.)

Please report the excessive shipping listings.

I am not sure what the buyer is referring to regarding the hardware but there's nothing wrong with the bag you sold.

The buyer who negged you is also a seller and as a seller, I would hope she'd have communicated with you before leaving feedback. Did she do that?

Please refer the buyer to this thread and recommend that she express her concerns and why she thinks the bag is fake. She is mistaken and her lack of knowledge about the bag has hurt an honest seller and will probably cause other sellers to block her bids.

If you need a list of everything that's wrong with that piece of trash for a Paypal/Ebay claim against the seller, please let us know. In fact there isn't a square inch of that bag that's even close to what a genuine Coach should be. A close look at the creed patch would show a serial number in a format Coach has never used, and the word "detail" is missing the "i", just to point out 2 major problems in addition to the bad cutting and sewing on the patch itself..

And why, oh WHY did you already leave Feedback for the seller? Even though it's a Neutral, you shouldn't have left any FB at all until you were sure the bag was genuine.

There are several problems but there's an obvious detail that is only on fakes.

ETA: I re-read the description and I think she's aware that it's fake. She "received it from someone else" and there's also an authenticity disclaimer.
