Yep I get it! And I totally agree with you, I do tend to report Gucci and LV items that I think to be not authentic or even message those who already bought to contact the seller and tell her she got a fake and consult this forum if they don't believe me. Again thank you so much for your time and concern. It is highly appreciated more than you can think of :flowers:
You're welcome.

Please accept this caveat. If buyers or sellers report you to ebay for contacting them after the sale of a fake, you risk suspension of your ebay account. I know that this has happened to well-meaning messengers.

I recently bought this bag from an auction site. I did my research and I believe it's an old Coach Station Bag. However I'm no expert and I'd hate to be walking around with a fake! The bag didn't come with a belt, by the way.

This is the link to the auction:

If it's real I'm going to give it lots of TLC until it looks like new :D

Thank you so much for any help :) And of course I'll be more than happy to provide additional information/pictures if asked.

It looks genuine. :smile1:

Are you the winning bidder of that bag? I can't read it but it doesn't appear that the style number on the creed matches the description that the seller says the style number is. Please post a picture of the creed.

Edited to add:

I do not recommend buying from huntingdoodoo. huntingdoodoo sold this fake Coach.

If this is the listing the seller bought it from, the pictures in this listing appear to be okay.

However, the seller buys for resale and doesn't know the difference between real and fake Coach so the listings end up being a mix.
the numbers are do968-f13743

I went back to Goodwill and they refused to refund. I asked if they knew it was illegal to sell fake coach bags and they just said no.....Maybe it wouldn't be so bad except for the fact that this purse was separate from all the other purses in a glass display with a few other "Designer" purses and marked up a lot more than the regular purses. They charged me $30 for this stupid purse. Yes, I was gullible, but I have never owned a coach before and with the creed inside and all, it looked real to me. Lesson learned. Do you think I should report them to Coach for selling fakes?

I've also seen fakes in the "exclusive area" at both Goodwill and Salvation Army. I think that the people that do the sorting can't always tell the difference.

It may help a little to remember that your (fake) purchase will benefit a charitable organization.

I would go back (during the day time) and insist upon speaking to a manager. I would stress that it is illegal to sell fake goods and ask for a refund again.

But I would not report Goodwill for fraud. I am sure that it was unintentional and they are they are trying to help less fortunate people!

Sorry for your disappointing purchase!

its hard too get a good pick DO968-F13743 yes i was the winner of the bag
If you pull the lining out of the bag and take a macro (flower/tulip setting) picture, you should be able to get a good creed picture.

And if you plan to resell, you'll need to learn to take good clear pictures of creeds and other important details such as hardware, seams, stitching, etc.

I disagree. Goodwill and Salvation Army don't make any attempt to abide by federal trademark law. We are doing NO ONE any favors by turning a blind eye just because they are a charitable organization.

Although we are helping the charity when we donate our own used items, by purchasing at their stores, part of our purchase price also goes to the overhead; the rent, the utilities, the employee wages, etc. And I do NOT want any part of my payment for a fake to help any organization that is too lazy or negligent to obey the law.

These charities will no longer accept televisions, VCRs, printers, and other electronics items because they either contain hazardous materials or because they don't want the labor-intensive testing involved to make sure they work.

Perhaps the charities should no longer accept donations of highly faked designer items if they aren't willing to authenticate them.

Charity or not, any retailer (and Goodwill IS a retailer) is not above the law.

*Off my soapbox now.*

am i in the right forum? is this the real thing? i always thought it would be sturdier with no crumps and frumps. also, the lining is wrinkled.

Welcome to tPF.

This is the correct place to post authenticity questions but you'll have to post pictures. If someone doesn't have a facebook account, they can't see the pictures.

You can either upload the pictures to Photobucket or another similar photo-hosting site and most the IMG code here or you can save the pictures to your computer and upload them through the "manage attachments" option below.
