It seems to be ok but from the seller's explanation of how her bags are "rejuvinated" and from what looks like some discoloration right under the top edge of the back pocket I'm wondering if the bag has been re-dyed. In the second photo it also looks like the piping color doesn't quite match the bag color.

The bag was apparently sold through a store, maybe Nordstoms, as a Final Sale and a metal rivet put through the inside pocket so it couldn't be returned, see the last photo. The seller only shows a small part of the rivet and doesn't even mention it in the listing. If you're the high bidder you might want to ask about those things before you pay.

I think that is just part of the zipper from the 2nd to last picture :smile1:

I think that's the bit that pretty much proves the navy one isn't genuine. From your original pics it didn't seem as if there was that extra piece of leather under the other half of the snap but the picture proves it.

It seems too like all magnetic snaps used by Coach will have a brand name and patent number stamped in them. There are 2 different companies that I remember - Romag or Comag maybe? And another one with no name but just a trademark symbol and patent numbers (looks like 2 "R"s back to back, maybe it's a trademark for Romag?). Snaps with no names or valid patent numbers are major red flags.

Sorry, Katev, it looks like you find wasn't a Woo-Hoo! after all. But considering the size of the bag, maybe there's a little girl in the family who can use it when she plays Dress-Up?

That's okay, I was kind of expecting it to be fake. If it had been more expensive I would have left it behind but for $2 I took a chance. The leather doesn't feel as thick and soft as I would expect either. It's better to know the truth and not waste time trying to rehab it.

Thanks to you and DemRam for your expertise!

No, I didn't. I went for the Willis city bag instead, which I had much more confidence in. Thanks. I'm wondering if I should alert this seller that her mom owned a fake, lol.
Rather than risk offending the seller or risk being reported for harassment, a better option is to use the report button and state that the bag is counterfeit and describe the reasons as outlined.

OK, I stand corrected. It looked too big for the standard zipper pull. Maybe it was the angle.

Hi, thanks for all the help; it seems like you think the bag is authentic since you say it probably came from some place like nordstroms; my question is; if the bag has been redyed does that mean the bag was actually used quite a bit and they had it redyed? I have never had a bag redyed so I am not actually sure what it entails. thanks
p.s I am the high bidder...hope it works out:confused1:

As has been pointed out, what I thought was the Nordstrom rivet is just the zipper pull for the inside pocket so there's nothing to show it came from Nordstroms. As for why it may have been re-dyed, only the person who decided to re-dye the bag can say.

Most of us aren't fond of re-dyed bags. Depending on the quality of the work and the materials, you can get one with no problems, or you can end up with the color coming off when you condition it or sometimes even just when you get it wet.

Since the auction ended on the first, you should be receiving it soon. If you already own a good quality leather conditioner you may want to try just a bit of it on a light-colored cloth and gently rub it over different areas of the bag and watch for any color transfer.
