Here is a puzzling submission...Parchment Gathered Sophias.

Compare this one (which I hope is not a superfake after the last debacle I had in here): http://cgi.ebay.com/NWT-COACH-MADIS...104?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item564462b948

To this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/NWT-Coach-Madis...100?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item35b263af64

Now, if I am not mistaken, the Parchment Gathered Sophia has Lavender/purple lining (as in the first link). The Bone gathered has blue-ish lining with brass hardware. Why then, does this Sophia have blue lining, but no brass hardware, and is being called a Parchment Sophia?

I emailed the seller asking about this, and I honestly do not think they have a clue that the bag is not authentic. They said they are sure it is authentic and sent me a link to what they thought was the same bag...but was actually Bone with Brass hardware. I told them this, and they said they were going to go to a Coach store to look at "another" parchment, but I have not heard back. Said they got it from a "reputable" boutique. And, says the tag attached to the bag reads "silver/parchment".

So, just to confirm, the 2nd bag (with the blue lining) is not authentic? It is not Bone, because Bone has b4 hardware. This is a white (Parchment) colored bag with silver hardware, that does not have the correct lining, according to my knowledge.

This seller is also on Bonz with the same bag, and my communication was through there.
Wow! I'm not familiar with the color combinations (lining/leather/hardware) and if these differences weren't pointed out, I'd have been fooled by this bag.

But after making comparisons based on the differences you've described, I believe you are correct. I don't think the listings from sabvadarut7 (on ebay) aka FashionFan (on Bonz) are authentic both based on the reasons you pointed out as well as some side by side comparison pictures.

This is a bag that without the side-by-side graphics, the differences are so minor that they probably would slip by most of us.

My comps show significant differences (IMO) in the minute details such as the quality of the stitching, the size of various pieces of hardware and width of leather strips.

I noticed that the seller also already sold another of the same bag. She might want to visit this forum and issue a refund to her buyer of this item:

It's scary how good and quick the counterfeiters are getting, isn't it? This bag was just released! We had that fake black gathered carryall, and now this.
I seriously don't even want to purchase on ebay or Bonz anymore...except from trusted sellers that I have previously dealt with. It's getting way too scary.

Thank you for looking at this, BB, and I do hope others will comment as well. I hope a LOT of members see this, and become a lot more wary. Buyer beware, indeed.

PCL, if the seller is honestly not aware that the bag is fake, it might be helpful to direct her here. Her ebay and Bonz reputations are at stake.

And hopefully, both listings on both sites will be reported so buyers won't be taken.

Great catch, guys! This is one of the most realistic looking fakes I've seen yet. I do see some details that are off, along with the ones BB has pointed out. The fakers have yet to duplicate the pleats in the gathered Sophias exactly. But this is definitely one of the scariest fakes we've come across so far. I would love to know where the seller obtained this bag. It looks like the seller has ended the listings.

Comments: Hi everyone! I recently bought this Coach handbag at a consignment shop and was wondering if it was really authentic. Also, I was curious to know any other details as to the name or year. Thanks!

Authentic! Style number 9870 is the "Court Bag" and yours was made in 1996. The "Court Bag" is still available on the Coach site for $258.

Nice one.

Hi - I was hoping you could authenticate this one too please! Thank you! :)

Item Name: Gorgeous Authentic Kristen Yellow Large Coach Bag!

Photos:

While I don't see any red flags, there should be more pictures, such as a picture of the back of the bag, the inside, the hangtag, a closeup of the front closure, and closeups of hardware, including the logo stamp on the clip and the button on the side of the bag.

The seller shouldn't be using a stock photo for the first picture.

There is a Coach new white wallet item# 250826938280 listed. Will someone please authenticate for me. I would appreciate it, thank you.
Welcome to tPF!

There's no way to authenticate the wallet in rial2's listing because the pictures are too small.

Please request larger and clear pictures of the front, back, inside, and any Coach imprints and paperwork that might come with it.

If she sends them, please return and post pictures.

In the future, please refer to post #1 of the thread for the posting format. We request that format as it's helpful in searches for seller IDs and listings.
