Hi everyone,,I'm looking for a gift for my mother in law.
So, Please help me to authenticate this handbag.

Item: COACH HAMPTON SIGNATURE FLAP 13972 (Blk/Wh)
Listing number: 280461541318
Seller: ggs56collectibles
Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/COACH-HAMPTON-S...emQQptZUS_CSA_WH_Handbags?hash=item414ccf7fc6
Comments: Just want to make sure before bidding.

Thank you so much^^
The seller's items seem to be fine but a picture of the creed should be included in the listings.

Item: COACH 2010 STYLISH NEW DESIGN - BRAND NEW!!

Listing number: 180466533309

Seller: moda514pics.ebaystatic.com/aw/pics/s.gif

Link: http://cgi.ebay.ca/COACH-2010-STYLI...emQQptZUS_CSA_WH_Handbags?hash=item2a04a4c3bd

Comments: I have no proof, but I have a sick feeling that every item on this listing is fake. I've seen a few fakes out of Quebec I'm sad to say. This seller lists no details, uses stock photos, has zero feedback and doesn't list any style numbers. I posted a link to all their items. Not sure if there is anything that can be done, but I have a sinking feeling in my stomach about this. I am not planning on bidding on anything, but I hate the fact people may be getting scammed.

But then again, maybe it's above board, I am no expert. What do you guys think?

My guess is that everything is fake.

Most of the pictures are stolen stock photos from Coach and/or department stores.

The following are definite fakes:

What about this charm / hangtag? I just bought a vintage bag with brass hardware on eBay and am looking to decorate it a bit...

I think it's okay (but other opinions are welcome) but are you aware that you can call Coach and if they have a brass hangtag, they'll send it to you free of charge?

In looking at this seller's listings, I get the feeling she removes the hangtags from bags and sells them separately. That rubs me the wrong way. JMHO.

Should I report the seller and/or items? I've never done that before - is it anonymous? (Well I guess nothing online is anonymous these days).

Although the four "definite" fakes are reportable, a good rule of thumb is that you shouldn't report any item unless you personally know it's fake, know why it's fake and you can describe those details in a report.

And although the seller's items which use stock photos are probably fake too, we really don't know that for sure since we aren't seeing pictures of the actual items.

So in this case, reporting (by you) probably isn't a good idea. You can't report based on a "bad feeling." We've seen too many instances where authentic listings were reported and/or pulled because they were styles that the reporter had never seen.

In cases like this, it's better to err on the side of caution and risk having a fake remain posted rather than having an honest seller's listing pulled.

As for reporting, ebay knows who does the reporting but as far as the seller is concerned, it's anonymous. If their listing is removed, the seller's notice comes from ebay and they don't know who reported or how many reports were received.
