I would definitely want to see a photo of the "mark" that shows the metal content. Is it sterling with applied 14 Kt gold? Is it gold over pot metal (gold plated)? Is it gold over sterling (vermeil)? The pictures are so bad I can't tell what the color is.

Maybe someone has seen it before? I thought Coach only made "costume" jewelry.

Everything you've said is what I thought when I saw this. There isn't even a measurement on the length of the bracelet.

I should have said I'm not going to bid on this, not for the price coupled with the lack of information. But I did e-mail her to ask for more information and photos.

If the main part of the plaque is silver and if that's what needs to be cleaned, then it's probably this one. The plaque should be sterling and the "grommets" around the openings for the straps could be 14K. I'd say it could be genuine and seems to be from 5 or 6 years ago, but there's no way I'd bid without much better photos of the plaque, the buckle and the backs of the straps:

The shapes of the letters in the Coach logo on the box are completely wrong.

And the only place I've seen those Cs on the stripes is on fakes.

All that, plus a brand-new seller? YUCK.

Can someone check the "Chanel" and "Dior" sandals? Thanks!

Good find! I agree, the bracelet could be real. The more I look at the pictures, I think the the plaque and lettering look ok in the first and second pics. It was the third picture that was throwing me off. But I agree that better pics are needed.

Heres a quick follow-up on our photo thief -
http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.d...15&rdir=0&sort=13&rows=100&userid=sally198897
http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/sally198897

the owners of the stolen pics were contacted, and so was the thief herself - BTW, THIS IS NOT SOMETHING I RECOMMEND DOING, Leave this to people who know how to handle the possible problems - and the thief removed two of the stolen pics and finally took her own. Here's the Dog Bone keychain that she's ACTUALLY selling (or trying to, obviously she's not going to get very far)

This is why everyone needs to remember the Ebay Rules To Bid By:
Sellers can LIE.
Photos can be STOLEN.
Feedback can be FAKED.
Ebay "Buying Guides" can be WRONG.
If something looks too good to be true - IT IS.

See, in'nit it LOVERLY???

Hyacinth,

Amazing... Glad I found you and this site... It's been a fast and furious education to say the least!

Thank you for all your knowledge and attention!

BTW...
I have a possible problem with my own FOB return... Could I private message it to you for your advise?
Thanks,
Karen

You are amazing Hyacinth! It looks really nice in the photo you posted. I haven't heard anything back from the seller and there's a bid on the bracelet so she may not bother to respond. But I'd sure like to see more of it.

Sure, but the posters here can probably be a lot more help together than I can be by myself. Many of us have probably had to file a claim to get our money back for a fake or SNAD item at least once, so unless it's really personal, don't hesitate to post here. There's always a chance that your seller might read these forums, but unless you're worried about her retaliating in some way, that may actually be a good thing.

Someone who's selling fakes is usually a lot more willing to give a full refund when she knows that the buyer is getting advice from a group of experts on how to effectively file a Paypal claim.

If it's a question on what makes your keychain fake though, I'd rather answer that with a PM, since I don't like to publicize the mistakes counterfeiters are making with their merchandise. But the full list of mistakes should only go to Paypal once the dispute is escalated to a claim - fakes sellers shouldn't have that information either.

Thank you for getting back so soon...
Ok, Here I go...

The first message I sent to the seller was done before I got your advise on how to handle this return situation... Initially I told her I wanted a refund but did not state I wanted shipping charges... She didn’t write back right away. This is when I submitted my pictures for your advise.
After I got your opinion and advise on how to handle the dispute/return, I launched a dispute with Paypal and wrote to her again and referenced the narrative I left at Paypal.
Here’s a copy of what I wrote:
Not as described dispute - #PP-709-957-183
Not as described:

The keychain has been verified as fake by one of Ebay's Coach experts and I want a full refund, including return shipping. The box alone (the one in the ebay item photo and received by buyer) shows that the keychain is fake. Refund for shipping, handling, shipping materials and insurance/delivery confirmation should be approximately $30.00
A Refund was issued.

She finally wrote to me saying she "forgot" to get back to me (after receiving my initial message). She refunded my purchase price but didn’t address the s/h and such.
I may be getting petty now because of her perceived lack of concern for the whole situation.
Paypal automatically closed the dispute.
I wrote to her again referencing the s/h ect… and she wrote back:
“Please, send a copy of the shipping cost receipt. Thanks. Specialrain”
I sent a copy of the USPS website shipping estimate to her.
I feel she should have refunded the additional $$ when I requested it!
I’ve been extremely patient with her… I have not left negative feedback and I have not yet reported her item as counterfit to ebay (wanted advise on how to do this too).
I don’t feel I should ship the fob back until she reimburses this amount. I’m wondering why Paypal closed the dispute. She paid for s/h to send the item to me initially (as her auction stated it would be free).
I want to avoid negative feedback… What do you think?:thinkin:

First off, a fake should not be returned, it should be destroyed. Don't send it back - don't waste the money or time so that she can resell it (which is illegal, btw). I don't understand if you paid shipping initially. Sounds like you didn't, you just want return shipping? Like, I said, just throw it out and let it be over with. Give the seller negative feedback and report the listing as fake. Ebay's new policy will not let sellers give buyers negative feedback.
