Both are authentic. However, the bag in the second auction is stamped with 'FS' (final sale) on the creed, which means that Coach will not repair it if something were to happen to it. The FS stamp should probably be disclosed in the auction, but maybe the seller didn't know what it meant herself.
Could you post a link to the auction? It's helpful to check out the seller. Just my opinion. Looking at the 3 pictures the bag "looks" authentic. It looks like Coach quality, the wording on the creed is correct for nubuc, but I have never seen it before. (I have a small list of older style numbers and names and that number IS NOT on it so I don't have a clue what the name is).
Sorry - I just can't say for sure and I hope someone comes along who can give you good information.
Style number 4140 is a Lafayette bag from the Soho Lightweight Collection. This completed auction on ebay - 250315291604 - is for an authentic one.
