Thanks Kerri. The problem is the bag I received is exactly what was pictured in the auction. It's just that in three places, the stitching is black where it is shown to be white in the Coach website picture. I've looked on eBay and there are bags with both white and black stitching up for sale. Every other aspect of the bag looks authentic, so I'm not sure whether it truly is fake or Coach changed the colour of the stitching??

The seller is sunnydazeboating and has near-perfect feedback. :confused1:

If possible, you can always bring the bag to Coach and have them check it out for you. They can let you know if it's authentic or not, like if they did change the stitching color.

If a COACH bag purchased on Ebay still has the white COACH price tag (price has been cut off) and the style number on the tag matches the style number on the inside of the purse, should you assume it is authentic? Price tag has FS in front of the style number, but there is no FS inside the purse. I know FS means Factory Store. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If the purse was made for the factory store, there would be FS somewhere in the # on the creed. The factory stores do change the price tags of the products they get from regular stores to include the factory pricing on the tag. I'm sure that's why there is an FS on the price tag.

Well, I'm not 100% sure about this bag. I hit BIN but after doing some research I have seen that there are some really good fake Carlys out there and I'm not convinced now that it's real. I sent a message to the seller and they say it's real. I asked for further proof that the bag is authentic such as a picture of the original receipt and a picture of the price tag attached to teh bag. The seller keeps calling it a shoulder 'tote' which is what I saw the ioffer bags labeled as rather than a shoulder bag. Any opinions? I thought the seller might say something like they didn't know if it was real or not and just refund my payment but they say it's real. This sucks because I looked for all the telltale signs and now I'm not sure about it. I know the price is very low but I've gotten other bags for ridiculously low prices too so that's not always a good indication. Anyway, let me know what you all think. And if this is fake, I hope to let everyone know about these bags.

So, as I was typing this I got a response from the seller with a picture of the creed patch which is not what I asked for. Here is the reply:

I buy the bags in bulk and therefore a single receipt for this bag is
not available. I have attached a picture of the tags control number
that corresponds to the number inside the bag. Will be shipping
Monday. Thanks.

What shall I do now? I am more convinced that this is a fake.

By buying in "bulk", he may not mean by wholesale.
A lot of eBay sellers go to the outlets and "stock up" on bags...usually 8+ per trip, which may be why there isn't a receipt per bag.

However, the one odd thing I notice about this bag as well as the other one he is selling is that they come with plastic bags that say "Coach" on them. Otherwise, they actually look real to me.

Can you post the picture of the creed?'

Tlloveshim,
I might suggest posting on the ebay forum on tpf... They are a lot of power
sellers on there that might have some suggestions for you... Hope this bag
turns out to be real... The pictures are lousy so its hard to tell... I agree
with Margarita Mix, a picture of the creed would help.....

Here's a pic of the creed patch attached. I believe it may be fake. See what the price tag says? It should not say shoulder 'tote'.

They just offered to refund my money if I am uncomfortable with the sale. What do you all think? I was just on ioffer and the creed patches on these carlys say 10619 and 10620 so that's not a good indication of it being fake.

Chele, good find! Yeah, the creed stamp on that carly is really good but the O is off! And the stitches go up slightly!

I just got my refund too! Whew! That was the best replica yet! The only real way to tell were in those tiny details and by the mismatched description on the price tag. This is sad because there are women out there who will buy these and have no clue that they are not getting the real thing. Thanks for your help chele and margarita!

I'm jsut glad you could get out off it!! :sweatdrop: I hate being scammed!:cursing:

tlloveshim - I'm SO glad you got a refund since it was too late to warn you that this was a fake! I agree, there are some "realistic" looking Carly's out there. What tipped me off that this one was a fake were several things: the clear plastic bag that says "Coach" on it (the fakes all come with this), the reddish-brown booklet that says Coach on it (the fakes seem to come with this too), and the picture you posted of the creed that starts with H0649. Almost all the fake Carlys I see on eBay start with this serial number. Oh, and the very low Buy It Now price - real NWT Carlys would never sell for this low. Once again, I'm so glad you got a refund! And  for the seller who continues to sell fakes.

^^ Great info!!!
I love finding out all this information so we can totally disprove the fakers. I just wish everybody could figure it out and run them out of business!!!:bagslap:
