I would stay away simply because of the seller's attitude. Why in the world would a seller not answer questions related to authenticity ? I think its a shady auction simply because of that. Ofcourse, the fact that she doesnt have a clear pic of the authenticity patch, no categorization of this bag as Coach in the item specifics and no mention of the style number makes its incredibly risky to bid on. IMO, it could be a fake.

I have a Vintage Coach bag that was a gift.

I dont use it much, and am thinking of Ebaying it. However, I have no clue if it is real or fake, since I am new to this, and the bag is vintage (I believe). So I would like to know, before I proceed!

I have 2 pictures, the 2nd one having the serial number inside. Of course, it is not on the DD.

Serial No. L8p-9048. It is a very small bag (long skinny shoulder strap). All leather (no lining inside except the leather) and one snap closure. Snap closure does not say Coach like some of my other Coach bags.

#1: I have this same wristlet except mine is more metallicy. I don't know if it's the picture that makes it different or if it's a different wristlet. Here is mine:

#2: Looks more authentic to me, although the first one is probably fine, it's maybe just the angle. The metallic in this makes me feel more confident about it though.

#3: Looks authentic, but it doesn't match up perfectly to the drilldown. See the corner stitching in the DD picture? http://www.coach.com/assets/product_images/drilldown2/40279_d2.jpg That isn't in the auction picture. Possibly, the pic on the DD is a pilot version or something, but I don't know.

#4: Well this one has the same thing with the corner stitching, which makes me think the first one was a pilot version. These two should be okay.

#5: Authentic

Thank you so much Bethy..! Such detailed info! Btw, what's a pilot version?

A pilot version is when they come out with a design and then it changes slightly before it is mass produced for stores. Sometimes, you'll see a pilot version of something in the Coach catalog, and something about it is slightly different when it makes it to the stores, but both versions are real. I'm not sure how to explain it better than that, but someone else probably can if that doesn't make sense.
