Hello Ladies,

Please authenticate the following item:

Item: Vintage Coach Brown Leather Bi Fold Wallet Checkbook Made In Italy
Listing Number: 152029780851
Seller: emilitito37
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Coa...BaKwdfkmkdZy6GRFqidEM%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
Comments: Please provide Madison style number and name if possible.

Thanks in advance! :flowers:

I believe that it's a style #4472 Checkbook Clutch.
It's authentic. I don't think it is 4472 because that one has a kisslock coin compartment. I think it is probably 4479 Madison Checkbook Case.

There's only one picture of this bag, and it doesn't look right to me. Could someone tell by one picture if the bag is NOT authentic? Please confirm, and I'll move the link accordingly. Thank you!

Yes, I can tell it is fake from one picture. I already posted it in the Hall of Shame. It isn't a Coach style. The leather looks horrible and the logo looks like it was cut with a knife.

It looks like it's just a checkbook holder without any coin compartment at all. I think it's probably the Madison Checkbook Case #4479 rather than the #4472 Checkbook Clutch. Here are pics of the 2 styles for comparison. The seller's description calls it a tri-fold wallet but that's not what it looks like in the photos. They also describe it as "black" - or "balck" to be precise, and apparently it's a case of a lazy seller who C&P'd part of another listing and didn't check to see if the actual details were the same. (The same careless seller also described a wallet measuring 4x3 as a "checkbook").

ETA - and of course I should have checked for other replies before posting - sorry, Whateve!

Thank you for the correction and the catalog pages. These old eyes wanted to see the kisslock compartment in the seller's pictures and somehow the mind's eye complied. But you folks are absolutely right, it's not there in this case. I humbly stand corrected.

Thank you. I can't even begin to know how to respond to the email message from eBay below. I think that I will just eat the loss. California53
