Definitely going to refer back to these past few posts for future reference. I think I may have at least another wallet that I purchased that is questionable. Ah. I love learning from everyone here.

It's time for me to gather the troops to compare details so I don't end up gifting them! Time to have them locked up so no one can be mistaken.

Edit: Here is another similar wallet but it is definitely different than the one I posted earlier. And my naive self thought the black wallet was simply a previous version of it. (Now I know to look for the zipper stop as well! I never caught that!)

DING DING DING! I knew it. I had my suspicions but that lining was too weird and it felt crude. Thank you(whateve) for the additional valuable photos/info.

Ah. There was mention about Coach not having Fiocchi snaps and I swear I've seen it on at least one of the wallets I have purchased(second hand).

Now I am second guessing this wallet!

Again, the lining is a big red flag. Bonnie Cashin era wallets might have random linings like that, but this isn't one of those. The zippered compartment at the end is weird. That's not the way Coach would have done it. I'd have to say it is fake.

ETA: Coach wallets don't come with hangtags.

Fiocchi snaps on Coach wallets do not mean they're fake. I have wallets from both the Madison and Gramercy lines - the originals, not the recent styles - that have Fiocchi snaps. They are or were a major Italian manufacturer of snaps although their primary product is ammunition. I've seen their snaps in quite a few brands, especially Italian-made styles. And I'm sure that, just like YKK zippers, real and fake versions are found in both real and fake items.

"At the beginning of 20th century, Fiocchi introduced a product diversification and successfully entered a new field of activity -snaps- made using scraps left after cartridge production. This brought to the creation of Fiocchi Snaps in 1903. Snaps business assumed an important role to counterbalance the trend of the ammunition market and at the end of 80's was so attractive that, upon Fiocchi's decision to focus on ammunition as its core business, the snaps factory was taken over by the European leader in this field..."

(interesting juxtaposition of products, eh?)

HITT, what I haven't seen before is that lining in your wallet. Without knowing, or hearing from someone else here, that it's been used in genuine Coach wallets, I can't give an opinion. Your wallet is a generic style that could have been made by anyone at any time. Waiting for more opinions...

ETA - I'll accept Whateve's feelings on this one.

Besides the lining, the placement of that zipped pocket makes no sense. Coach would put a kisslock at the end. If they wanted to have a zipped pocket there, the zipper would have been on the back, not at the end.
Forgive me if I'm out of place here but I wouldn't destroy that wallet just yet.

While I've done a bit of hunting and haven't found another of the style yet, I do believe I've seen t (or a similar style) before. The lining isn't totally unfamiliar though I don't know where I saw it.

I'm just not convinced that it's fake.

ETA: I found a stock photo but it's tiny. I'll keep searching the Wayback for more but it looks like style 6911:

I believe the other is 6997.

The pictures below are 6911 and 6997. I don't know when they were made but my belief is that both are authentic.

6997 is

Still looking for the other.

I actually received the same wallet years ago and passed it over to my friend. I'm asking her to check if she still has the wallet and box to see if there's a style number, etc. If I recall it had the blue and white ticking for the lining. But I couldn't be for certain that it was authentic. Will try to post pictures if my friend still has it.
