  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

I don't see anything wrong with the bag. Why don't think it is authentic? Remember, this is a Soho/Lightweights bag so it isn't going to have the thick leather of the classics. Is there anything engraved on the snap?

No, nothing looks odd with the snap. The "H" product factory code was throwing me for a loop. I read Hyacinth's guide's on ebay, and I didn't see anything about an "H" product factory code for the USA in 1994. I bought a fake on ebay and now every purchase makes me nervous. You gals are so GREAT! Thanks a bunch!

Hi - Can someone authenticate this city bag for me? (In my possession)
Thank you!

Please refer to post #1 for the source information (and photos) that we want to see when requesting authentications using this free service.

Following your previous request for a scary "good" fake, I'd asked where the bag came from, whether you are the buyer or the seller and what country you're located in. (Certain countries seem to have a proliferation of superfakes.) You didn't answer the questions but have continued to post multiple bags for authentication.

I have a concern with this bag but without more information on where the bags are coming from (including the MK and other brands you're asking about), I am not comfortable or willing to divulge much information.

I will suggest you compare your bag to this listing for a bag of the same style:

Could someone please authenticate this Coach bag?
from GW...
Approx. 9"w x 7.5"h x 2"d. Strap 6.5" to buckles.
2003 Poppy for Peace, Special Edition #9260, yes?
Hangtag is really hard to read and photograph, even with cheaters, but it's stamped SPECIAL EDITION, SPRING 2004 under the Coach lozenge...I think.
Thanks in advance!
Twins!

You're welcome! The reason I mentioned the snap is that hardware is the place where "good" counterfeiters usually mess up. So if the stamping on the snap matches the snaps Coach used at the time, that should assure you that the bag is authentic (not true for zippers since the brands Coach used were widely available and varied.) This is what a snap for bags made in the mid to late 90s looks like.

There are many fakes with the H factory code so you should always get them authenticated.

I don't remember if I've already covered that, but my Guides do NOT have a complete list of every plant and production code - I never said they did, and they never will. Very few plant codes are engraved in stone and plant codes were sometimes transferred among different plants.

Just because something isn't mentioned in my Guides DOESN'T mean that it's invalid or never existed, and if I had to break down EVERY plant code and when and where it was used I'd have at least 5 or 6 solid pages worth. I don't have the time or energy for that and I don't think it's necessary OR possible since a lot of those details are still unknown.. Anyone who's really interested can collect the information the same way I did, piece by piece and bag by bag. There's NO official list of ANY of that information.

And I'm also NOT going to write a manual to help fakes makers make more accurate copies!

Once again, EVERY situation and bag is different and every bag has to be analyzed INDIVIDUALLY.

We asked you before on the 28th for more information and a link to where the first bag that you asked about was purchased but we haven't received an answer.

If you read Post number One in this thread, the thread Rules ask for the information on where the bag was bought, any available links, and the name of the seller. Without that information the authenticators have the right to refuse authentication. The Rules are posted there for a reason.

Since I think this bag is also problematic just like the first one, I'm going along with BeenBurned and asking that you supply the required information before answering your question.

And why aren't you showing pics of the front and back of the price tag? We need to see those.
