Please authenticate. I purchased this Coach #4082 Soho Tote. I rec'd it today and I'm not sure if its authentic. The creed says "H4H-4082". I've attached a clear photo of the patch. Shame on me for not authenticating first. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help and assistance. It's much appreciated!.

I don't see anything wrong with the bag. Why don't think it is authentic? Remember, this is a Soho/Lightweights bag so it isn't going to have the thick leather of the classics. Is there anything engraved on the snap?

Genuine Brighton Bag style 9895 from the early 1990s. I'm not sure why the seller says "This is the limited Made in USA edition" since AFAIK all Brighton Bags were made in the US and Coach didn't mention anything in the catalogs about the style being an LE. We've seen about as many of them listed on Ebay as many other contemporary Coach styles.

The seller also states:
"THE BAG WAS PURCHASED AT THE HONOLULU FLAGSHIP STORE.

THE BAG RETAILED NORTH OF $550.00"

The so-called retail price of $550 is also complete fantasy. Even for the Hawaii stores I don't think Coach was marking their bags up more than 100 percent! (Hawaii tPF members, please correct me if I'm wrong.) The Fall 1992 catalog shows the list price as $216, and I don't remember ANY early 1990s bag with a $550 list price. Back in 1992 you could have flown that bag from NYC to Hawaii in its own "coach" seat for that price, and at the time shipping to Hawaii was $15 compared to the usual price for the continental US of $6.50. Below is the Holiday 1991 page with a slightly lower retail price.

Hawaii does produce some fine local products and I wonder if the seller has been indulging in them.
Well said! And very entertaining! Thank you.

It seems as though people on ebay confuse "no longer sold in retail stores" and "limited edition." Though if you look at it that way, every bag is limited edition because Coach is incapable of making infinity of anything.

Item: COACH Leather Briefcase H8S 0581 Laptop Shoulder Strap Brass Metropolitan ExLrg
Item no:141555928016

Comment; Is this authentic, please, and if so is it named correctly?

The style number is 561 but I don't know the name of the style. It's not a Metropolitan Brief but might be some other genuine style using the Metropolitan name, like Computer Case.

If Noshoepolish comes by, she might know the name.

I don't understand why you think it's "bizarre"?

It's a genuine Sheridan Wilmington Satchel style 4227 from the early 1990s, but it's missing the long shoulder strap.

I've never seen a Wilmington before. I thought that was a Dakota Fargo. This one also which does have a strap. Was I wrong on both counts?

Could someone please authenticate this Coach bag?
from GW...
Approx. 9"w x 7.5"h x 2"d. Strap 6.5" to buckles.
2003 Poppy for Peace, Special Edition #9260, yes?
Hangtag is really hard to read and photograph, even with cheaters, but it's stamped SPECIAL EDITION, SPRING 2004 under the Coach lozenge...I think.
Thanks in advance!

It's authentic.

Didn't you find one of that style a couple of years ago?

ETA: My memory isn't completely gone in my old age! It wasn't the exact same style but here's what I was thinking of:

The first one mentioned in your post is a Sheridan Wilmington. Dakotas have square or box-grain leather and never have linings. The top zipper and handle and strap mountings are also different between the two satchels.

The second one you asked about is a Sheridan Charlotte Satchel, third pic.
