IMPORTANT READ-ME

Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread. No PMs please.
For further information, please refer to the first post on page 1 of this thread.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:
  • FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller and site where listed
    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Where purchased or how obtained
    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

I'm sorry but I can't recommend redryder330.

3 of the seller's listings are stolen from Coach or other sources. Additionally, the other images that may or may not be the seller's own pictures aren't adequate to authenticate the bag.

Additionally, I posted a thread warning buyers to use caution when purchasing Swagger style bags because they're being very closely faked.

Unless sellers show many clear pictures of the bag, I don't recommend buying. Swaggers should be looked at carefully by experts.

Darn I was looking for that color everywhere. Thank you though

That's another red flag, IMO.

This is a brand new seller with no history of selling Coach, has a highly faked style in a HTF color and yet, she has 2 of the same style and color.

This one already sold on January 30. (It could have been an unpaid item but I consider it odd that a buyer wouldn't pay for such a HTF color.)

I'm sorry to disappoint you.

Hi! This is posted in a Facebook group a friend of mine admins, and none of us are really good with the older bags. These are all the photos I have - can you take a look and let me know what you think? Thanks!

It's authentic. You didn't include measurements but it looks like a dinky.

ETA: that turnlock looks funny. I can't tell if it is just the angle or fuzziness of the picture.

Heads up: the listing mentions that the strap has tears.

Thanks!! Any idea what year it's from?

Where did you find the listing? I had this authenticated as a favor from another admin of a Facebook group, I'm not interested in purchasing the bag.
I hope this isn't out of place and I'm not implying that Canderson22 is doing anything questionable, however it has come to our attention that some "professional" but not recommended authentication companies and facebook groups are using TPF's free authentication services then using our expertise to charge their clients for the authenticity documentation.

In fact, this is a reason why some AT subforums will only authenticate live listings, listings with links and won't deal with private facebook groups.

Again, I'm not questioning the motives in these particular posts but we here at AT Coach have been used (without our knowledge) to authenticate bags for which a company charged and payment for "their" services.

Please post the link to the FB page where it's posted.

The Coach authentication process has been one of the least restrictive of all the brands here on tPF, but we need to start tightening things up. If there's any kind of link available, whether it's on an actual auction site or just a Facebook or blog page, we need to have the link, the Rules require it if there's any link available at all.

"If the bag in question is not on an auction site, please use the following:

Item Name (if you know it):
Link (if available):
Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.)
Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach."

The rules aren't there just to make the authenticators' jobs easier, they're also there to help prevent the system from being abused.

GMTA! I was just going to post something along the lines that Hyacinth posted. But she beat me to it! :D

Hello Everyone,

Please authenticate my purse.
I am pretty happy with this purchase. It looks like it has only been worn a handful of times. I got it for $14.
From my studies I believe the date of this purse is 1990-1994. Am I correct?
What is the style name?

Thank you, Christine
