Hi everyone!! I haven't been on in a couple of years. My collection has been sitting idle ever since. I've already posted this on the wrong thread, however does anyone know the style name for this bag? Thank you!! (I hope I'm in the right place!! LOL!!)

I'm not sure where you posted first but this thread is for when you don't know whether an item is authentic or not. (THere's a separate thread for requesting identification of a known genuine item.)

But since you're here, I'll respond. The bag is authentic and although I'm not sure of the official name, I have it as legacy leather demi flap convertible bag. (I'll keep looking to see if I find the style name.)

1, 3 and 4 look good. I'm not seeing a creed picture for #2. #3 is called a Soho bag.

It looks like a genuine Basic Bag, style 9455. It was called a Zippered Clutch earlier in its history, but I don't know if it was ever a Bonnie Cashin design. This particular one wasn't made until well after Bonnie Cashin ended her association with Coach, probably from the early to mid-1980s, so Cashin's name probably shouldn't be used in the description.

I'm concerned about the overly shiny finish on the leather. That's NOT normal on vintage bags and could mean the bag has been over-treated with conditioners or even with something containing some kind of coloring agent.

Wait for more opinions on the finish and on any Cashin connection.


ETA - there's also a Station Bag listed that I don't think is genuine.

ETA: the seller absolutelybetterpursedeals had a lot listing in which she "hid" at least one fake. I don't know whether this is a coincidence or not but the seller absolutelybetterpursedeals is from Ohio and another seller with a habit of mixing fakes into lot listings was the now-NARU botticelli4grace is also from Ohio.

Definitely fake, the cartouche is too big. But I agree about needing to see a serial number photo. Most of the 308-9875 ones I've seen say "Made in U.S.A." instead of Made in the United States.
