I bought a Park Leather Hobo (F31323) on eBay. I already have one in a different color which I bought on eBay about a year ago. There are some differences. I'm worried that the new one is fake. The leather is not as soft but it might just not be "broken in" yet. The stitching and hardware seem to be good quality, but the lining seems cheaper. But I've bought authentic Factory bags before that felt like they had cheaper linings. What concerns me is that the hang tags are not authentic. It came with 3 different hangtags and none of them are the style that is supposed to come with the bag. And the Creed patch does not include a serial number. Thank you for your help!!!

I apologize for the delay in my response but I wanted to do my research to verify what I was going to say.

So far, I see no red flags. I would appreciate if you'd post a couple more pictures. There should be 2 tags sewn into the lining. One or both might be in the inside open part of the bag or might be sewn deep inside the zipper pocket. One tag states where made and the other has a serial number. You might have to really dig inside the pocket if the tag is in there. It's hard to find.

I don't have specific dates because few listings have the appropriate pictures of the labels from inside the bag. But it appears that in April, 2014, Coach used the creed with serial number as shown in your top photo.

Sometime between April and July, 2014, they stopped putting serial numbers on creeds and instead used those labels sewn inside the lining. They also changed look of the creed on the bag using the horse and carriage logo instead of the cartouche.

As for the hangtags, you can't judge authenticity of a bag based on something that's removable and/or replaceable. You say the hang tag isn't authentic. From the picture, I can't tell whether it's authentic or not but I don't believe it came with the bag unless it might have been switched in the store or added by an employee who noticed a missing hangtag and added one that was available.

Again, I don't see any problems with the bag but I'd like to see those two pictures of the inner labels.

The following listing shows the serial number tag for the bag made in July, 2014 - 3 months after your first bag:

Actually, I'm Waiting for ebay to remove.them. :tumbleweed: HA!HA!HA! When Pigs FLY?

her response to my query:
"It is not authenticated. It was my cousins bag and I have sold other things of hers here and had no problems. I will check and see if any one in my area to authenticate."

S5B is a common invalid prefix seen on fakes. All the other concerns you have are correct. The bag is fake.

ltc_988 and her store, designerforless988 sells enough Coach that she should recognize such obvious signs of a fake.

ETA: My records show reports of multiple fakes in March, 2013 and July, 2015 that ltc_1988 listed.

ETA again: Here's a previous post where one of the seller's items was deemed fake:

Thank you much for the confirm. Regrettably, after being advised as to the status of the item, seller opted to end the listing only to relist it a short while later. eBay certainly needs to do a better policing listings to prove that they can balance the demands of integrity versus profitability and they also should start holding their "experienced sellers" to a higher standard as they indeed should know better.

Yikes! I just posted the seller's previous listing in the Coach hall of shame after having reported and seeing that it hadn't been removed.

This is the relisted fake that ltc_988 relisted knowing that it's fake.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Stewa...039045?hash=item5429d46845:g:Ac0AAOSwoydWqmSl

Now, knowing thatltc_988 AKAdesignerforless988 has had many fakes in many designer labels and also KNOWINGLY relists a fake after being told that it's counterfeit, that confirms that this isn't a seller I would do business with. And clearly, it's NOT an honest mistake.

And in case the listing does get removed, here are a couple of pictures of her fake bag.

Having received a message from the seller at 21:44 stating that the listing had been removed, I too was taken aback when it quickly reappeared. Though the benefit of the doubt is perhaps unwarranted in this instance, I did deliver a reply a few minutes ago asking what had changed, as in what new information was available to support a claim of authenticity. I'm hoping that the seller will indeed remove it permanently and give it away to someone who can use the leather. If this doesn't happen within a reasonable amount of time, then reporting the listing as counterfeit will be the prudent next step.

Btw: I just checks and the second listing has been ended. I suspect we'll just have to wait and see.

I wasn't sure whether she was reading here or communicating with someone but now I have my answer.

It's your choice whether you want to report her listings or not but knowing her history, I've reported both listings (even though ended). I'm hoping that if and when ebay removes her listings, she will either be prevented from listing Coach in the future or will be told she needs to authenticate her items before listing because clearly, she isn't expert! And ebay rules, in accordance with US trademark law require sellers to know items are authentic BEFORE listing them, something ltc_988 doesn't do.

Refer Cynthia 5678 AKA cynthia-5678 here.

Her bags are fake and although she may have gotten away with selling fakes in the past, it's only because there are so many dishonest sellers that it's impossible to find and report them all.

But if she wants to keep her ebay account, she'd better do her homework. (And her 99% feedback score isn't good! Another neg could be the end of her selling career.)

I reported both bags twice(I'm on a mission) Ebay has NOT removed them....I mean seriously, all you have to do is GLANCE at them..MY EYES! :yucky: I doubt ebay will remove her bags or remove her as a seller..I've seen FB scores at 87%. They just don't give a crap...

As always I am so grateful for your knowledge
