Hi ladies! I just won this small black/silver phoebe in an eBay auction. I've compared it to the phoebe I already own and it seems ok but I wanted to have you lovely ladies authenticate it for me before I started carrying it. Thank you! I don't see any problems but since the bag came from ebay, we like to see a link to the listing as well as the other info requested in post #1:

Could someone please authenticate these two Coach bags? More in the red and black theme. Thank you in advance!

first is a black Legacy West Hobo 9823 (7 1/2 x 9 x 5")
second is a red Janice's Legacy 9950 with nickel buckles/zipper (9 x 7 1/2 x 4 1/2")

Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-29429...891544?hash=item5680f78118:g:Xl4AAOSwKtlWlVZs
Seller:http://www.ebay.com/usr/rfrcorp?_trksid=p2047675.l2559

Comments: Not really interested in this particular bag, but I have noticed recently on a couple sellers from the NJ/NY/MA area, that list brand new Coach bags at high BIN price, and they also have a few styles at very low starting bid with no reserve, and the creeds are not visible or very blurry... I guess I am being suspicious and just wondering if there are certain new styles that are showing up as fakes.

I can only comment on the seller and listing you've posted since I don't know who the other sellers are nor have I seen their listings.

The bag in the listing looks okay.

Some of the major department store chains (specifically Federated Stores which include Macy's, Bloomingdales) that have liberal return policies. Between what they have in their own stores' inventories and the returns they accept, they often have items that can't be returned to the selling floor. Some items have been used, damaged, shopworn, etc.

For those items, there are people and businesses who buy up the truckloads of stock and resell it. I think this ebay seller has one of those types of businesses.

They generally buy the stuff sight unseen and have no idea what they'll get. Some items may be perfectly new and unused while others are trashed. And I've seen a few cases where a reputable seller who bought Macy's inventory listed a fake. (A dishonest customer bought a bag at Macy's, switched tags and returned a fake with the original genuine receipt.)

While there are some sellers who have close fakes and HTF items at too-good-to-be-true
prices, there are some legitimate ones too.

I see... this information sure helps because I had no clue. I noticed some listings as I mentioned, but only saved this (the last one I looked at). If I come across those other listings/sellers again I will post them, just to be sure.

Thank you so much :smile1:

The bag and creed look good to me :) On a sidenote, GW has a habit of knotting the straps though.. I bought a black bag from them once that looked fine, but when it arrived, the knot camouflaged a significant strap tear that had been shoddily sewn (and with red thread!)

Hello,

Please authenticate this Coach bag.
I recently purchased multiple purses from a "high end" yard sale and this is one of them. I don't know if these are authentic or not, so I'm asking for your advice. Thank you!

Hello,
Are we able to have wallets authenticated here or is it too difficult to tell the fakes from the genuine articles?
Thanks!

We'll try to authenticate almost any Coach product, including keychains, scarves and shoes. But like you said, wallets especially newer ones from the last 5 or 10 years can be almost impossible to authenticate accurately. Post the photos and links we need and we'll take a look.
