Thank you Whateve and Hyacinth!

Every glove tanned Coach is going to scratch easily. It takes some getting used to, but this is the way it is supposed to be. The leather is minimally processed. It's helpful to keep conditioner on hand to cover those scratches.

This is new to me, I normally don't worry if my purse brushes against corners, the subway, or I have to pull it when it's wedged between the car seats, etc. Do I need to baby these vintage coach bags more as compared to the modern pebbled leather bags? Or will leather conditioner and regular cleaning take care of all these little scuffs? I've also noticed the corners/pipping seem to loose color a lot easier. Is there anyway to prevent this or is this just part of the character

Comments: Sorry i don't know how to get the url of the image on a tablet but all the pictures are on the ebay page including the creed tag. The creed tag serial number is I6U-9870. I thought the letter 'I' was not used but the seller said in non-US countries they do use it. Is that true?

Thanks in advance!

As long as there is an accurate link to the listing we don't need you to post additional photos. The only time we might need more pictures would be if there is no readable photo of the creed and serial number, which we always need to authenticate.

And NO, it's not correct that "I" is normally used in non-US countries. The rare times when it was used it was because the managers or employees at those plants either didn't get, or ignored, the instructions from the main office to go from the H month code directly to J and skip over "I" completely. And it usually only happened in plants located in countries where English was not the primary language.

The bag is genuine.

You don't need to baby a vintage Coach bag. They last for years. I have some that are nearly 50 years old! They won't stay new looking without some care. Scratches and scuffs don't ever go away but they aren't noticeable when treated with conditioner. The corners do lose color but because the leather dye goes all the way through the leather, usually conditioner will restore the color. We have lots of tricks for maintaining these bags in the Rehab Clubhouse. I believe I mentioned this to you yesterday.

WHATEVE can answer your questions about leather care.
ETA - whoops, she beat me to it.

And smooth glove leather WILL be more likely to show scratches than highly-textured leather like the Pebbled or Saffiano types you asked about earlier. I would never "wedge" my Coach leathers anywhere in my car unless they were wrapped in one of my canvas shopping bags.

Please give me feedback on this purse. In your opinion is it authentic.
I want to bid. I am purchasing for myself. I am not sure about the closure, it might drive me a little crazy to have to unbuckle & buckle it to get in & out of it.

Thanks in advance, Christine
I think the bag is okay although that closure would drive me crazy!

However before deciding whether to do business with station_85, you might want to check out her toolhaus feedback which shows MANY complaints, much of it describing items being in worse condition than pictured and described!
