It might be pretty old. Coach used harness leather in the 60s and early 70s. The solid brass stamp also suggests that era. The lozenge logo looks newer though.

Hi ladies, I'd really appreciate it if someone could authenticate this bag for me please.

Item Coach Hobo k0693-10044
Listing number 252214167266
Seller: tammgrima
Link http://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/252214167266

I don't know how to post pics but I will if pics are needed in addition to link. Thanks very much

Genuine. I don't know the exact name but it's a pebbled leather Hobo, possibly from the Chelsea line, made in 2006. The seller's guestimate of its age is way off.

Hi, Just purchased this from Ebay so I'm hoping it's authentic! "Vintage" Court. Made in USA. Interested in what year it was made (approximately). Also, I recently purchased a 2001 coach leather backpack and noticed the hangtag is double sided stamped with "coach" -- is this normal on near vintage items? I thought the hangtag was usually stamped on one side with the raw unlined leather on the other side....

Thanks, Coach aficionados!

Can anyone recommend a good TPF thread for caring for vintage coach bags? I've purchased three good condition, low cost bags in the last month and interested in how I can properly maintain them. I've looked on TPF, but wasn't sure if there is one solid thread many refer to...

I have concerns over that creed. Can you post a picture of the back of the flap, showing the turnlock? Also post a link to the listing.

As far as the hangtags, the older 80s and early 90s hangtags were one-sided. Starting in the mid 90s, they became two sided, and lost the word "leatherware," although sometimes they separated.

We have a rehab thread and a vintage chat thread, both in the clubhouse section of the forum.

Whateve, here is the auction link including several more photos:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/231784816515

Unfortunately the seller did not include a photo of the inner flap where the turncock is, I will send another once I receive the bag. If you feel like it's not authentic though, I will fill a claim and return the merchandise. Thanks for your help.

I am pretty sure it isn't authentic, just based on the creed. I can't see any other problems in those pictures that would prove it is fake. If the seller hasn't shipped yet, I would see if she would cancel the sale. If not, just wait until you get it, and post a picture of the back of the turnlock, so we can see if there are other obvious mistakes.

ETA: the seller also sold this fake: http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-WARMH...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Thanks for your help. It's been paid for and shipped today. I will post a picture of the back of the turnlock. I will contact the seller today. What about the creed is questionable? And what should I look for in the back of the turnlock?

You're welcome. The creed has the wrong font and certain format errors that are common on fakes. It doesn't match authentic creeds from the same time period and factory. The seller may not be aware that there is anything wrong with it, as it is only something someone who has made a study of creeds would catch.

On the back of the turnlock, where the corners are folded over, it should be flat. Some fakes use hardware made by a different manufacturer that indents in where the folded parts are.

On further examination of the pictures, I believe there are a few subtle errors on the bag you ordered. The turnlock might be slightly too high and the edges of the flap might be too rounded. Look at how square the edges of the flap are on other courts: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...0.Xcoach+court.TRS0&_nkw=coach+court&_sacat=0
It will be easier to tell if this is the case once you have the bag in hand.

This is a picture of an authentic creed from the H plant (for a different style).
The next picture is what the back of an authentic turnlock looks like (smooth).
The last picture shows a fake turnlock.

You're right. Definitely looks like the edges of the flap are too rounded, and the turnlock is placed higher than the Courts from eBay.

As for the creed, what are your thoughts on the below photo in comparison to the creed of this questionable court? Looks like the same exact font and spacing...
The first creed is from a 2001 brown leather mini backpack that was authenticated here.

To me, it's not similar at all! I'm primarily looking at the creed number. The shape of the numbers is different. Anyway, you can't compare a 2001 creed made in the D plant to a 1998 creed supposedly made in the H plant. That's why I posted the example I did. It was made in the same plant just a few months before when your court was supposedly made.
