The last one is a genuine Station Bag from 1997.

WAIT FOR THE EXPERTS ON NEWER STYLES TO LOOK AT THE FIRST TWO.

The first two look good too.

Note: In reading the first listing, I'm impressed with the "terms" of the first listing from Goodwill of Orange County. (Apparently, each Goodwill sets its own "rules" and although the sale of counterfeit goods is illegal, most thrift (Goodwill and others) B&M and online stores don't seem to GAS.

Goodwill of Orange Country seems to be open to messages of errors in their listings (unlike some other Goodwills I've posted in the Hall of Shame over the years).

My only issue with their note is that they state it's "shopgoodwill.com" policy that prohibits the sale of fakes. In fact, it's the law by which many shopgoodwill stores don't abide.

Note: Goodwill of Orange County states that this item has been posted in accordance with shopgoodwill.com's policy prohibiting the sale of counterfeit items. If you have any questions or concerns about the authenticity of this item please contact seller directly prior to bidding.

Thank you both!

I think Ebay causes some confusion among newer or part-time sellers when they only allow a seller to post the strap "drop" since someone just selling her unwanted bags might not know what it means. They should require the seller to measure the actual minimum and maximum strap length instead.

To measure "Drop" the bag needs to be hung from something like a clothes hook or doorknob, and the distance measured from the top of the strap's triangle straight down to the center of the top of the purse as it's hanging. The drop will usually be a bit less, maybe one or two inches less, than half of the strap's length as measured

Even if 2 different styles have the same exact strap length, drop can be different depending on the length, shape or contour of the top of the bag, and if the top of the bag slouches down when being worn. And of course, bags with adjustable straps will have more than one drop measurement depending on how long or short the strap is adjusted.
Thank you for explaining further Hyacinth!
Very helpful as always.

J8P- serial number prefixes that say they were made in the USA are always fake, no exceptions.

The so-called "Metropolitan Brief" listed by seller 51Yale at Etsy is NOT a Metropolitan Brief. The front pocket and top handle are completely wrong for that style. It looks like a Lexington Brief, style 5265. I THINK it's genuine, but I'd still want to see a creed and serial number photo. Noshoepolish might want to take a look but I'm not seeing any obvious red flags. Many briefcases have been very well-faked and there's no way I'd say one way or the other without more photos.

The second listing BeenBurned mentioned might be the same briefcase. Agian, it might be ok but we need that all-important creed / serial photo.

It is probably a Lexington but I would like to see a creed. The other similar style is a Morgan Brief. Feeling kind of queasy tonight so I might not be back until tomorrow.

It's not necessary to show pictures. TN is a known invalid prefix on fakes and 9096 is one of the suffixes commonly seen.

If there's a link to the listing from which you purchased the bag, please see post number for the info needed.

This guide (one of few trustworthy ones) is very helpful:

Thank you so much for your help. I have almost 100 purses that were given to me, I'd like to sell most of them, but don't want to get in trouble for unknowingly selling fakes. I know next to nothing about designer purses, unfortunately.. So thank you!

I hope I am doing this correctly by posting here.
I have been hunting for a blue or turquoise Coach purse to rehab. I bought 2 and now I think they are fakes. Please let me know what you think.
Here are the links, after you click on the link you will have to scroll down to see them because I already bought them:

The first one is genuine, a Suede Beaded Large Tote from 2005. Be very careful when rehabbing it, those beads are fragile and break and fall off easily.

The second one might be ok too but the creed and serial number are hard to read so I hope someone familiar with the style will take a look. More photos of the hardware would have been a big help. The style number looks like 10622.

You did fine. They're both authentic.

All of them are genuine.

The first one was called a Saddle Pouch and came in 3 different sizes, although most of the time only 2 sizes were available. The Small may have been discontinued in the early 1980s, the picture below was in the 1981 and 1982 catalogs

Small, 9 x5 x 2, # 9595

Standard or Medium, 9 x 7 x 1 1/2, # 9590

Large, 10 1/2 x 8 x 2, # 9585
Oooh thank you Hyacinth! Sorry for the delayed appreciation but I was sucked back in to work. And thanks for the old catalogue photo too!

In future, please check post number One in this thread and use the format requested for authentications.

Wait for someone more familiar with the newer styles to comment on authenticity. But have you checked the seller's Feedback? They have a LOT of unhappy customers, including handbag buyers who say that their supposedly "new" bags look used. If I saw Feedback like that about a seller I was thinking of buying from, I would hit the Back button so fast it would make your head spin, especially after reading the unhappy buyers' actual comments.

Click on the numbers in the Neutral and Negative columns to see the comments - and remember, this only shows the last 12 months.

Another problem is that the seller doesn't show any close up photos of the creed patch, or of the tiny white tag inside one of the interior pockets with the production codes, and that makes it almost impossible to give a solid aithentication.

The pictures in the listing aren't adequate for authentication purposes but since I don't recommend the seller, I'll add to Hyacinth's comments about the seller and his/her feedback.

1. Based on some of the comments, I question whether the pictures are the actual items and whether the seller has the inventory in his/her possession.
2. fashta-au is located in the US but sells to Australia and is the same seller as retailfashionoutlet whose feedback is even worse!

I'd avoid both fashta-au and retailfashionoutlet!

Wow great thx much for the help.
I was thinking about replacing the beads even though they are still attached really well. That kind of bead oxidizes on the ends. They look old. Is that a good idea or not?

You should probably ask at the Rehab & Rescue thread in the Coach Clubhouse subforum at the main Coach forum, be sure to mention "beads" or "beaded tote" in the title of your question, but first Search for those words or terms using the forum Search.

I'm glad the Carly came out well. That's one of the best style lines Coach ever made, at least in the "modern" era.

Hi experts, what do you think of the authenticity of this? The creed stamp seems very light/artificial looking compared to authentic creeds of a similar style. This is a Court bag, made in USA, serial number C6C-9870.
