1- after examining a lot more evidence since the original Fakes List was written, that serial number is now considered "always fake". We've also never found what can be confirmed as a genuine Coach with a 4154 style number. There's also a problem with the inside pocket.

2- genuine Saddle Pouch Standard style 9590 probably from the early or middle 1980s

3- genuine Sonoma Satchel, Natural Grain. BOTH zippers have the correct zipper pulls

4- genuine Sonoma Flat Pack Natural Grain

5- genuine Madison Chapin Bag. It's hard to tell the color, it could be Granite or Beechnut or something else. Some Madison color samples are posted here:

Thank you for the response and the link to the color samples! Enjoy your Thanksgiving Day and the holiday weekend!

Can you help me with these? Thank you very much!

They both look authentic

Thanks Hyacinth! I am thinking of giving one to my dear sister :)
I agree with Hyacinth on the authenticity of the listings you've posted. I've also looked at both sellers' other items and they look good to.

But I just want to comment what we've found from sellers based in the Philippines. There have been a lot of very close fakes listed on ebay.ph and although I understand the desire to buy from sellers in your own country, please use extreme caution and have any items looked at by experts before buying.

Hello Ladies,,

Please authenicate the following items:

Comments: Serial number is suspect - MN4-4154

Note that surplussuz has another fake so clearly, this is a seller who doesn't verify authenticity before listing!

And for the record, there's an "ended early" fake Dooney in her completed listings.

I don't recommend surplussuz.

Seller: sexinthesales

Comments: Bag has some marks on it which I think I can get out and looks a bargain, I've wanted this style of Coach bag for ages and the colour is perfect, but I'm just not sure if its real.

Can you help me out and cast your expert eye over the pictures? There is one of the creed there. Thank you ladies, money's been a little tight this year and I'd love an affordable rehab project.

Oh and hello from Bonny Scotland!!!

Oh and hello from Bonny Scotland!!!

Bonny, but a wet and windy Friday ahead too, apparently! Not a good day for shopping - and how did the Scots and other Brits EVER get pulled into that insane US "Black Friday" shopping madness? Especially since you don't have a holiday or in some cases a four-day weekend like some of us Yanks? Just one more thing for the US to feel guilty about. ;)

The bag looks genuine, but more opinions are always welcome. It's called a Bleecker Leather Duffle. Just be warned that light-colored Coach leathers are very hard to get clean once they get smudged up. And ink is the worst, ink marks are usually permanent. Check the Rehab and Rescue threads over at the Coach Clubhouse for all sorts of cleaning hints and methods:

Looks fine to me too.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Even though the family's here, I can't help but to sneak on the web every once in a while to check for bags. :shame: I'm determined to find this bag before Christmas dammit!

I have another duffle sac that I'd like some help to authenticate, an etsy listing--

Link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/257400...a_search_query=coach saddle&ref=sr_gallery_22

seller: goodbyeheartwoman

comment: The listing identifies this bag as Coach style 9953, but the measurement listed/the size made me think it is the 9085 that I've been looking for. I actually really like the size of this as shown in the pictures. What do you experts think? Is this authentic? I really hope this one is good!

Thank you Hyacinth and Beenburned!

I will check out those threads about sorting marks out. I feared white would be tricky.

Not sure how the Black Friday thing became so huge over here in the UK, we do have bargain envy over here though. The choice on your side of the pond is so much bigger and the tax on our shopping is crippling for those of us who covet shiny things and I often browse the US sites to torture myself over the gorgeous things we can't get over here. Retailers will do anything to make us part with our pennies.

Thanks again, we all appreciate the work you do for us.

Since it was introduced in late 1994 the Helen's Legacy 9953 will always have a serial number that includes that style number - IF it's genuine. The one in the etsy listing looks genuine and could only be the 9085 Duffle Sac, and it looks OK.

Thank you Hyacinth, you made my day! This bag is pricey, but I'm getting it.

I guess this is another case that proves you definitely can't expect the seller to know that much about the bags they have. I've been looking for this bag while searching for "Duffle Sac" and "9085" and so on-- and nothing, kept coming across fakes. I actually saw this listing by chance while while searching for "Coach saddle bags."

May I please get this authenticated? Thank you.

Length 11"
Height 9.5"

Strap length 36"

Hello Ladies, I've recently started collecting the Italian Madison bags and I have yet to see some of the styles in that collection. I am wondering if you ladies have any pictures for 4407, which I believe is called the Pierpont. Your help is much appreciated!

Yep, if I didn't already have a tPF siggie, I'd start using this:
"DON'T EVER EXPECT A COACH SELLER TO POST OR EVEN TO KNOW THE CORRECT NAME, STYLE NUMBER, OR DESCRIPTION (or to post or even KNOW when it was made, or who did or DIDN'T design it, or what "vintage" or "Bonnie Cashin Era" actually means)"
