Hi again!
I found this bag a Goodwill along with a few others and this is the only one I'm not so sure about.. I figured it was only a few bucks so what the heck!
It is black with nickel hardware, and the leather and construction is super nice, as nice as my other definitely authentic leather coach bags. Even the piping seam matches the others I've seen online, but I still feel a little "off" about it.

Name: Tango Flap -- I know the creed style # belongs to another flap bag, but I think I read somewhere that sometimes there is a mistake and the wrong style number is applied..?
I'm pretty sure they made this bag until 2002 so the date works, but I'm unsure about the manufacturing plant code since the creed says it was made in the US.

Are there any other red flags I should look for in the bag that I'm missing?

For some reason I can't upload directly to the forum so here is a link to the album:

The reason that bag has an incorrect style number is because it's fake and the counterfeiters don't know what they're doing.

Besides not being the style that's indicated by the serial number, there's a lot wrong with the creed including the font and the plant code.

Thanks BeenBurned! I knew something just didn't feel right about it, but hey at least I didn't waste more than $5 on it.. You can't win 'em all I guess!

Good evening everyone! Here's the other duffle sac that I was talking about. These are the seller's own images. I've been in contact with the seller. After she sent the creed picture to me, I told her that I would be getting a second opinion on its authenticity.

I tried to match the style/country/plant number/year/ etc., and I couldn't tell if there's anything wrong with it as I am very inexperienced still. There's the weird line under the serial number-- don't know if that's supposed to cause any concern.

In her listing, she dates the bag in the 80s... but I thought the 4 meant that the bag, if authentic, would have been made in 1994. Not sure if I'm misreading.

Please help me authenticate. Thanks in advance!

This just proves why it is so important to get things authenticated. It's fake. The creed is wrong.

ETA: Here's a picture of an authentic creed for that number.

ETA2: pay attention to the pocket size too. Counterfeiters of this style almost always make the pocket too big.

You're welcome. I added some information to my response that might help you see why this one is fake.

I saved the picture in my files to help me as reference in the future. I might try to go back and look for all the old duffle sac authentifications and look at some pics if those listings are still up. Haha I'm being a bit obsessive, but Thanksgiving is coming up so light work load this week :happydance:

[edit] But I'm still definitely coming back here to authenticate the bags!

Genuine Mini Bag from the late 1980s, style 9825

It's not in my files but it sounds right

Sorry but I can't help with a name or style number but I agree that it's authentic.

This is the match to the 2007 Chelsea vintage leather satchel. The color is mineral. I don't know the style name or number.

I don't know the style number but I bought something from this collection at the outlet in May 2012. I think it is MFF.
Thanks so much ladies!!!
