Welcome to TPF. Unfortunately, you picked a seller to ask about for whom we have very strong opinions. And evidently, she doesn't care because if she did, she would have come here (even if just to read and learn) so she wouldn't make the same mistakes over and over.

My guess is that she does know which of her bags are questionable and as such, doesn't show creed photos of them. That way, it's often difficult to "prove" they're fake until after the purchase and only then if the buyer questions it.

The one redeeming factor in the case of debbieb208 is that her ebay account is no longer allowed to list designer bags on ebay. I think she's permanently restricted from adding new listings. The only Coach bags she has are items that she's been auto-relisting since October. Those listings were allowed to remain but she can't list more.

BEWARE!! Now that she's banned from listing on ebay, she's selling elsewhere.
Note that she's also selling on her facebook account, Gutsy Girls LLC where she'll continue to try to find unwitting buyers for her fakes. I see some of the previous fakes listed there.
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Gutsy-Girls-LLC/137815046285375

And her own website.

ETA: Yes, debbieb208 aka Gutsy Girls aka GutsyGirls is still peddling the fakes that were removed from ebay long ago:

This post in the Hall of shame shows the creed of a fake that was previously removed from ebay more than once, most recently in October 2014:

And here's the same bag listed on Etsy right now!

This is the creed from the ebay listing posted in the Hall of shame:

And here's the creed from the current Etsy listing:

HA. Yes, I see that, and I'm so glad I found this site. I initially questioned her because she didn't have the creeds/numbers in many of her Etsy bag photos... which kind of seems like a bad move when selling designer bags on the internet. Like, have something to hide much? And I guess my gut reaction was correct.
It's so baffling to me, being a newbie, but I bet you all are used to such shenanigans by now. Glad I didn't have to learn that lesson the hard way. :-)

Is this bag authentic? I've seen a LOT of Willis's over the last year or so, but I've never seen any with contrasting stitching. And it really bugs me that this bag is BLACK and is listed as Navy.

I've never seen contrasting stitching on a Willis before but that doesn't mean they didn't do it. I don't see anything wrong with the bag. It could very well be navy, rather than black. I have a navy Willis that looks black until you put it next to something black. I could see them doing white stitching on a navy bag.

I don't know whether this is a strange coincidence or if it's a case of an invalid serial number.

The seller has/had another obvious fake with a DU7 prefix and thick font. In looking at her other listings, I found this. Is it authentic?

Item City bag (Serial 0534-301)
seller loves2shophazel
item 171640450936

I thought "0534" sounded familiar so I googled and found this Etsy listing for a bag with the same serial number.

It's possible that it's the same bag being resold but the marks on the leather don't look alike.

The differences in the natural and wear markings can be explained away by rehab or conditioning, even the differences in the wear on the piping.

But both bags have gouges in the leather, one either a bit bigger or more obvious than the other, in the same places on the bag. One is on the letter "o" in the word "cowhide" on the creed, and the other on the back of the bag right at the bottom center and above the point where the ends of the piping are joined. The two small gouges on the back look identical on both bags. I think it IS the same bag.

Comments: Is this elephant skin you guys talk about, or just a dry bag?

It looks like an extremely dry bag that's been slathered with heaven only knows what kind of "conditioner" or treatment. The shine on that badly crinkled leather is NOT normal and I personally wouldn't even THINK of bidding on it. There's no way to know what kind of gunk was used on it.

Could someone please authenticate this Coach bag?

Thank you, Hyacinth. I didn't see anything that made me think it was fake but it was such a coinkydink, especially since the ebay seller is in the UK and the Ebay seller is US-based.
