  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

I don't see anything that would make me think it was fake, but I've never seen a NYC creed that was pebbled. When you look at the interior picture, the pocket looks very pebbled. I've seen some pebbling on NYC bags but it wasn't intentional. It's possible that Coach used the worst piece of leather for the pocket.

Thanks, whateve. I wondered whether it was scrap leather too, but then I wasn't sure if pebbled leather was around back when this one was made especially in what appears to be gray colour.

You're welcome. I have some NYC bags were there is some pebbling in parts. I thought it happened as the bag aged. I have a few bags where the leather looks very slightly pebbled all over but not to the extent as that creed.

I don't know if pebbled leather existed back then, but Coach wasn't using it.

That bag was made in the mid to late 80s. I know they made this bag in putty. I bet the color is closer to the taupe color shown in a few of the pictures.

No, there's no serial number visible or listed in the description, and that style is so widely faked (9966 Legacy Zip) that I'd NEVER recommend buying one without a good creed photo. There aren't any obvious red flags but unless you're a gambler I wouldn't risk it. JMO

I am not a gambler, so won't bid. Will watch and ask seller forbetter creed pic later if it's relisted. Thanks for your advice!
