Item: coach tabby 73995
i got it from a private facebook group listing. It doesnt state 100% authentic and the seller said she got it second hand from a friend’s private collection but shes also not sure if its authentic or not. Can you help authenticate the bag? Thanks in advance.
I haven't been on so I apologize for the delayed reply. I also apologize if the bag has been authenticated.

My opinion is that the Tabby bag is fake.

Hi all! I’m interested in purchasing a Legacy Zip 9966 in either Mahogany or British Tan. It would be my first vintage Coach purchase so while I have read up on creed numbers and obvious signs of fakes, I would like to be as sure as possible before I make a purchase. Could you please authenticate these items? Thank you so much in advance!

1. Item: 9966 in British Tan
Listing number: 286346997424
Seller and site where listed: KarmaTrends (3389) on eBay (also listed on Poshmark under same seller name)
Link:https://www.ebay.com/itm/286346997424 or https://poshmark.com/listing/Vintag...bag-British-Tan-9966-67c247b18e40fd7de5a663ec
Comments: while the creed number seems to be accurate, the fact that it is so much darker than the rest of the creed gives me pause.

2. Item: 9966 in Mahogany
Listing number: 176896835925 (eBay)
Seller and site where listed: barefootBarbie(4310) on eBay or bamerwin on Poshmark
Link:https://www.ebay.com/itm/176896835925 or https://poshmark.com/listing/VTG-Co...ssbody-Hobo-Saddle-B-67c88dc3f8847141f3b9735b
Comments: the creed number appears a little faint in the pictures but I believe it says E9N-9966 which I believe matches the Mexico location stated in the creed. The listing says USA but I actually commented on the Poshmark listing and the seller amended it there.

3. Item: 9966 in Mahogany
Listing number: 405496475381
Seller and site where listed: su-882718 on eBay
Link:https://www.ebay.com/itm/405496475381
Comments: I’ve requested more photos of the creed but haven’t heard back yet.

4. Item: 9966 in British Tan
No listing number
Seller and site where listed: lauren_cranfill on Poshmark
Link:https://poshmark.com/listing/Vintag...oulder-Bag-Crossbody-65f87c3fb635f8dbe4311a2f
Comments: the creed number appears accurate but it’s a bit crooked and has marks above and below, although I’ve heard that’s possible for real bags too just because of how they’re stamped.

5. Item: 9966 in British Tan
No listing number
Seller and site where listed: pitbabiesmom on Poshmark
Link:https://poshmark.com/listing/Vintag...ody-Shoulder-Bag-Y2K-66f18878142ad4e81057b2ed
Comments: the creed number looks crooked and the G is looks different and is spaced further than the other numbers/ letters. I’ve seen this a few times with the G location code and don’t know if that’s normal or a sign of a fake.

They are all authentic.

Authentic. Not a Cartwright. It's that unknown style that we are assuming is #4202. I think it looks to be in very good condition. Leather condition would help disguise some of the wear but not permanently.

It's authentic. If I'm recalling correctly, we surmised the style number was 4202 but that is just a guess since we never found it in any catalog. It is rare. It looks to be in very good condition. I think I see a bit of ink on the strap.
Thank you for authenticating this purse. I've since noticed something in the creed patch that I'd like your opinion on. Photo attached. Thank you.

The seller says:
The irregular stamp is common in vintage Coach bags, it just means there was an anomaly when it went through quality control.
She has since relisted the purse.

New listing #286390181340

The irregular stamp isn't very common but it was used for the reason suggested by the seller. In most cases, it is pretty hard to figure out what made the purse "irregular".
