It's a skinny tote #9546 made in the late 70s or 80s, many years after Bonnie Cashin left the company, but based on one of her designs.
Thank you @BeenBurned and @whateve for your advice and information. Much appreciated and very pleased with the outcome. Sorry for my late response, I have been offline for the past few days. Have a great day/ evening! 👌 🙌☀️

Item: Court Bag
Where purchased or how obtained: Thrift store
Comments: Hi, bought this sadly painted/shoe polished court bag from a local thrift store and wanted to check authenticity before I start rehabbing. Took the chance as it was only $10, but coming home I noticed the strap is unusually short (33" in length if I measure only the leather part of the strap). Bag itself measures around 9"w x 8"h x 3"d

It's authentic. Coach used to allow customers to switch out for a shorter strap, like the one on the convertible clutch.

Just purchased this Coach bag from Ebay for my girlfriends christmas present but have no clue how to authenticate their bags. i’ve looked at guides and nothing seems out of the ordinary with the bag but wondered if any one could help!
