  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

Dear authenticators, it has been a while, hope you are all fine. I found this purse on Vinted. The link will probably not being accessible anymore, as it is in the sold modus. So I uploaded the pictures for you. Off course I like your 'authentication verdict' before finally accepting. If it is genuine (hoping it is), I would love to get more info on its origin and age as well.

It's genuine.

I love the seller's description. So often, we read sellers' complaints that buyers don't read. This seller is very clear in her disclosure - 4 times in description and in the title she mentions "PAINTED."

It's a skinny tote #9546 made in the late 70s or 80s, many years after Bonnie Cashin left the company, but based on one of her designs.

Thank you! She sold the bag one day and it was for sale again the next day! I think a buyer was unhappy, so that's why she edited the description.

Yup, better to be fully transparent than to have an unhappy buyer. At least you know what to expect.

(I'm guessing that it's probably not as bad as it could be based on one of my own experiences. I am not as much of a rehabber as many of the others here and sold a bag that apparently had been polished, unbeknownst to me. It certainly wasn't slathered on as thick as some I'd seen and handled and I missed it.

When the buyer contacted me and requested a partial refund rather than a return, I happily agreed since she was willing and able to do the cleanup.)

#1 from Coolmom86 is fake. If you paid for it, ask to cancel. If you haven't paid, don't. (I don't know where she got the serial number and "made in USA" that she states in the title because it says made in Korea!)
#2 is fine.
