It's authentic.

EDIT: This is a bag that has a legitimate mistake done by Coach. The description on the creed is incorrect but we've seen a number of examples from when and where this bag was made.
Thank you for the explanation. The creed description had me doing a double take on its authenticity. This was my first vintage Coach purchase too so what are the odds that it had a misprint!

Hello! Could I trouble you to have a look at two items for me when you have a moment? Thanks very much! Both of these were together in a lot.

Source for both: recent eBay purchase from shopsastores

Skinny Case in Black
Measurements: 7.5" x ~4.5"
Notes: The chain and zipper pull are different than on a red skinny case I had authenticated here. I know they can obviously be replaced, but since this one doesn’t have a creed, I was checking as many other details as I could. Also, one corner has a tear. Could be totally fine—I just wasn’t sure how thin the leather should be so I wanted to make a note.

Shelton Bag (9917) in Black - 0557-310
Measurements: 9” x 2.75” x ~10”

The bag is definitely authentic. I'm not sure about the case. More opinions are welcome.

Hello all! Bought what my mom claims will be the final bag in her vintage Coach collection for her bday and want to double-check that it's legitimate. Should I have checked here before I bought it? Yes. Did I? No, because I'm unwise, but it's still in the return window.

Everything looks good to me, but I'm a total amateur. Thoughts?

Item: Coach XL Duffle (#9085).
Where purchased: Local market, seller claimed it's her personal collection she's selling off.

My conservative guess is that 95% of Tabby (and other style) bags are fake.
Well, I bought my first "Tabby." Let's see if I got a good one. Please and thank you for an authentication. I didn't ask before purchase because I didn't have a good image of the creed. Now the bag is in hand, and I do.

You did good. It's authentic.

Thanks. Trying to decide whether to return the lot—it’s worthwhile to me if both are authentic. If the case isn’t, though, I’ll be returning both.
It's really hard to tell with cases. There just aren't enough details to check. We can't feel the leather or the cloth. You probably can tell more by comparing to the case you own. I don't think I've ever seen one of these with a tear. The leather shouldn't be super thin. Does the back of the leather seen through the hole look like suede?

It doesn’t look like suede, no. It almost looks like it’s just a coating over the joined edges of the ticking, and the leather of the main part of the case itself is noticeably stiffer, thicker, and less soft than my red case. I think I’m going to send it back.

Thanks for your help!

The back of the leather as you describe it worries me.

How does the texture, weight and striped pattern of the lining compare to your others?

If you file for a return, you can always add a comment that you're willing to keep the bag but since the case is (fake or questionable), you don't expect to pay for that.

Some sellers are willing to issue partial refunds rather than pay return shipping and give a full refund when they can't resell the item.

ETA: Would you please post a link to the listing you purchased from shopsastores? I went through the sold listings and although I found other sold fakes, I didn't find the listing for the bag and skinny pouch you bought.

NEVER MIND: Found it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/395495565789

DO NOT buy items from sellers when the listing doesn't show creeds and/or other details that are necessary for authenticating the item.
