Hi! I got this bag on eBay and I just want to make sure it’s legit!
Item: Coach Womens Black Leather Inner Pockets Adjustable Strap Zipper Shoulder Bag
Listing number: 395423437885
Seller and site where listed: shopsastores on eBay
Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/3954234378...brb8ovkrhy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Comments: just concerned because the serial number is D6J-9058, which would mean it was manufactured in 1996 but I’m not sure when the 9058 first came out

Open a NAD (not as described) claim. It's fake.

Thank you! How did you know (so I can keep an eye out in the future)?
The easiest and most obvious problem is with the serial number. D6J is an invalid serial prefix. In 1996 bags (which this bag claims to be), the J plant wasn't making bags and once they did make bags, the J plant was a Chinese plant. Yet the creed states that the bag was US made.

ETA: Based on this seller's other listings as well as past history, it appears that the very few listings for which shopsastores shows creed pictures are those that the seller believes are authentic. If a bag is questionable or if authenticity is unknown, creeds aren't shown at all or if there is a creed, it's blurry and illegible.

There' isn't any information in my files but it's very likely that it's part of the Bridle line. The style number is only one digit away from the catalog description of style 6507 Bridle Executive Brief, and the construction details and creed description are identical.

Style 6507:

We need measurements and a clear photo of the back plate of the turnlock where the prongs are. Refer to Vlad's top-of-page READ ME post for a list of the needed photos.
Sorry had put her away, the measurements are 9x9.5x3

Thank you @Hyacinth for your verification.

I also found this from a previous response:

Sorry I’m having difficulty with the link.

I’ll call it a Bridle Executive Clutch meantime.

Thanks again

Hello can you help authenticate this bag:
Coach 214-1642, purchased from Whatnot live auction, has a single sided bag tag with small straps and brass buckle.

We need measurements and a clear photo of the back plate of the turnlock where the prongs are. Refer to Vlad's top-of-page READ ME post for a list of the needed photos.

Sorry had put her away, the measurements are 9x9.5x3
It's an authentic saddlery bag #9535 made mid to late 80s.

Hello ladies! I can't believe you authenticators have been here saving us bag lovers for what looks to be 20+ years now. I'm new to this forum as a member! But have been reading it on and off for a while now. I've been a fan of Hyacinth, BeenBurned, Whateve and many other authenticators on this Coach thread - I don't know how you guys have this specialised skill. I would pay if you guys ever offered a course on authentication. I'd love to be a Coach expert but alas, alot of the info you guys know are not even found anywhere else online :( Anyway, so sorry for my long intro. I'm not supposed to talk so much since this is an authentication thread. Please could you kindly help me to authenticate these 2 bags:

1) Coach 4156, Listing No. 235496496603, Listed on eBay, seller is happymg

2) Coach 9025, Bought from Carousell, seller is coconutgirl (she did mention that she bought it off a reseller, and that she brought it to Coach to polish and they did it for free but I know that doesn't guarantee this is authentic)

I have more vintage Coach bags that I have recently inherited so will dig them out and get them authenticated one of these days. Thanks so much again, all the wonderful people here 🙌🏻
