Hello wise ladies! A member of a Facebook group I Admin has this bag for sale and I'm not familiar with the style, so I can't authenticate. Can you take a look and let me know what you think? I need to know if it's authentic, and if possible, a style name or number (and retail or MFF if it's real?). These are all the photos I have so far. Thank you!!

Coach has made dozens of similar styles - even more if it's a Swingpack but you don't give any measurements. Without a clear readable photo of the creed patch and serial number, there's no way it can be authenticated, and we don't ever recommend buying a Coach without those photos. And since we've seen thousands of fakes for sale on social sites such as Poshmark and ESPECIALLY Facebook, there's even more reason to be extra careful.

If it's a publicly available FB page, we also need a link, see Post 1.

I'm the admin of the Facebook page, and it's a closed group, not public. All the info I have, you have, as it's all she posted. Doesn't look like it has a creed. Moot point anyway since as soon as I asked if she'd had it authenticated, she deleted her listing. :)

I'm very glad you're checking with us when authenticity can't be proven by the information the seller provides.

I don't recognise the bag's style or details either.

I think I remember seeing this style on ebay about 4 or 5 years ago, before I knew much about Coach.

Me too - I definitely remember the style and have had a couple - they are like swing packs.
Coach made a ton of them for the outlet stores.
They don't have a creed inside.
I remember having a problem with a customer because there was no way of really
identifying it as a Coach product...no signature pattern, no labels or anything - only the small
Coach hang tag (and a small "Made in China" cloth tag inside.)
While I knew then that it was an authentic item, I do remember posting a comment
here on TPF about Coach's poor decision-making.
I'm going to see if I can find the old post.

I can't find the old post, maybe it was something I submitted in the ebay forum.
Anyway, I did find a couple more of these on ebay.

There have been several similar soho swingpacks. I have 8A13 as looking very similar but yours doesn't have the tassel. There were similar styles. I'll try to see if I have a closer one in my files.

I do feel comfortable in saying that the bag looks fine.

Please Authenticate this Coach Wallet at this listing . . .

http://www.listia.com/auction/26026385-coach-wallet-nice-vintage-coach-style-w

Thanks so much !
Welcome to TPF.

The wallet is fake. Although there are very few pictures, this is an easy call because the wallet isn't a style that Coach has ever made.

Some of us have very strong negative opinions of Listia because although Listia's rules make it seem as though they disallow fakes, they don't remove listings and many, MANY buyers have been scammed with fakes that sellers claim are authentic.

That seller seems to have responded positively to someone who advised her that the wallet was fake although the listing remains active.

Note that in the past (several years ago), Listia had several volunteer experts for various designer labels who kindly offered their expertise to Listia. But instead of being appreciative, Listia kicked those members off, preferring that buyers spend their credits (AKA money) and not be allowed to learn that the got illegal counterfeit goods.

Until Listia makes positive moves in the right direction in removing fakes, I recommend buying and selling on sites that provide a safer marketplace.

In the future, please refer to the first post of the thread for the required posting format and information.
