Hi there! I took the plunge and got what appears to be a brick red Coach Willis 9927 made in the United States from July of 1994 at Plant C, but it looks like the seller misrepresented the bag to some degree that have me doubting its authenticity. Whateve kindly looked at the same photos that the seller had in their listing and let me know that it’s authentic, however the seller did not include the following picture of the close-up view of what was under the buckle of the strap that has me doubting the initial evaluation. (Sorry Whateve, I didn’t know about what was under the buckle either and didn’t see a photo in the listing. Totally no one’s fault at all!!! We only know what we know from what information the seller provides up front in the listing.)

Please see the attached photos that I took upon receiving the bag and let me know your thoughts. When comparing it to two authentic Coach Willis 9927 bags that I have in different colors, those two are consistent with having the stitching near the buckle as in the middle and not going all the way across. Additionally, the brass hardware seems slightly different. It looks super close like identical twins that may have grown up in different environments. The bag, otherwise, looks great but it’s the small details like the crooked stitching that appears under the handle and the stitching under/near the buckle along with the brass hardware that are giving me second thoughts.

Much thanks in advance for all of your kindness in sharing your knowledge and for helping me with this!

So, is the verdict authentic or…fake? (If it is fake, then it’s a really good fake.)
The bag is authentic.

It's okay.

In case you ever get a fake, even if they don't take returns, it's illegal to sell fakes and if you're buying, pay with a c.c. If the store refuses the return of a fake, you can dispute the transaction.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate your help! Also - I didn’t know that I could do a chargeback! Great idea ☺️! Yeah this store shamelessly puts out fake bags upwards $200 they know they’re fake too. ‍♀️

Comments: I believe this is a Newberry Drawstring, #4238. Apparently rare, and obviously, adorable. Please and thank you for an authentication opinion! It's got an odd serial number, 4MM...

It's fine and has a legitimate Coach mistake in which they transposed the month and year codes.

Hello, Authenticators!

Hello authenticators,
I found these purses from my mother’s stuff. She has Alzheimer’s and my dad can’t remember if they are real or fake. I believe he got them in the 80’s.
Thank you very much!

Welcome to tPF. I'm sorry to hear about your mother.

Both are genuine. I don't know the name of the first one but it was made in 2011.

The second one is genuine and from the Sheridan collection in the early 1990s. Since you didn't give measurements, that makes it harder to identify (see the information we need in the READ ME post at the top of each page in this thread) but I think it's a Sheridan Glenwood Bag style 4225.

FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
Item: Vintage red ergo mini bag

Listing number: There is not a listing number on Poshmark.

Seller and site where listed: Poshmark

Link: https://posh.mk/3jMsSMZg7Db

Comments: I have this bag posted in my own Poshmark closet. I did a lot of research and I thought it was legit as the N at the start of the serial number indicates it's sold at Nordstrom exclusively is what I read. But someone purchased it and then they asked me to cancel because they said based on the serial number it wasn't the legitimate bag and I just want to find out either way. Purchased it at Goodwill of course. Thank you in advance for any help.
