Hello! I have searched for this item number and have not seen any posts. I took a chance and purchased a vintage Coach bag from an online reseller, but I’m not sure it’s authentic. Can someone please help me as to its authenticity and possibly a style name or rough date of manufacture? Thank you so much!

So sorry - I was having difficulty uploading photos - here are some new photos. Both sides of the bag are the same with the outer pocket. It's only the inner zip pocket that has the creed stamped into the leather. The serial number is 0122 944
Thank you again in advance for any help anyone can give me!

Welp. I emailed Posh support with the pictures, a description of the details that are incorrect, and link to your post, and here is their response:

“Thank you for providing these photos. Upon review, we have determined that the item in question is authentic vintage Coach. This is shown clearly in the details of the creed patch, the style number as well as the hardware details such as the YKK zipper. As such, we stand behind the order as it stands.

If I can help answer any other questions, please let me know as I'm happy to help.”

It wasn’t a lot of money, but that seller also sent me a cat pee scented vintage bag in the same bundle so I’m kinda miffed. Going to go talk to my credit card company.

The bag is genuine and from the early 1990s, but as the READ ME post states, we need measurements to identify bags that don't include the style number in the serial number.

This is just one of many reasons that we don't recommend Poshmark.

It's best at this stage to let your credit card company handle it.

And please don't ever buy or commit to buying highly faked brands on Poshmark unless you have them authenticated here FIRST.

Hello Ladies,

Finally hoping to return to some vintage rehabs, please can you find a minute to review and advise on my latest purchase.

Link attached:

Where: eBay UK
Seller: Ampuis
Comments: additional image of creed and wrist strap clip attached for completeness.
I have perused the vintage Catalogues without success to identify a style.

Many thanks in advance

Zoe x

I agree that a credit card dispute is the way to go. The amount of loss isn't the important thing; you paid for an illegal item that should never have been sold.(The law requires that sellers KNOW items are authentic BEFORE listing and if they don't know, they have a responsibility to confirm.)

Poshmark needs to get the message that their "review" is wrong, whoever they use as "experts" are anything but and maybe a few chargeback fees might send a strong message.

And your experience illustrates why Poshmark is (IMO) the LAST SITE anyone should do business with and why I shall continue to refuse to authenticate listings on that site.

I found this bag which needs some serious rehab. I'm up for the challenge! However, it would be nice to know it's athentic before I put in the work/time. It's from the dreaded Poshmark site. I bought it anyway because I have one of these ego flaps (which you have already authenticated) and this one looks like it has the same details. And, that cherry red color. So gorgeous!
