  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

I did a bit of digging and if your bag is approximately 13" wide x 9" high, it appears to be a sample version of style 9293.

Thanks. I looked up that number on ebay and all those bags look similar but they have different colored edging?
I'm not positive that 9293 is the style it's the sample or prototype for but it sure looks like it to me.

Part of the reason samples and prototypes can't be authenticated (and probably part of the reason why they don't have style numbers) is because they often tweak and make changes to the final production version. So the different colored trim might be one of the changes that was made.

Hi! Please excuse my bag photos! I’m in the backseat of a car haha!
So I just picked up the little Sonoma crossbody bag it’s about 8x6 inches. The leather feels right, stitching and lining feel right, and it has an outlet bullet point, but the first three syllables look like they are c78 so I’m concerned it’s fake? I’m so annoyed at myself it looked so good from the outside and I was so rushed I didn’t even check ‍♀️

I think it is fine. I don't know what happened to the third digit. I think it is supposed to be a B.

Thank yo
Although it's not a foolproof way, there is a way to check for previous requests on a particular item or seller. Go to the "search"box on the upper right side of the page. Paste the seller ID and search.

Part of the reason why we require seller IDs on authentication requests (as well as Hall of Shame posts of fakes) is so members can look up to see if the bag was previously authenticated and/or if the seller ID has a "history," either good or bad.

Thank you, I will try, but most of the time I’m asking about bags that I’ve bought at Estate Sales or Thrifted as well as the plethora of bags that have been in the family. Simply too many! I’ve been listing quite a few, but am always concerned that I could have a “wannabe” in my hoard…I’m so opposed to wannabes that I would never sell one, hence why I seek out the opinions of you amazing ladies her at TPF! Thank you all for everything you do for us!
Marie

Hello Ladies!

Ok, so I recently read here that there is some confusion/controversy over sellers incorrectly naming bags as Penny/Pennie. As I’ve gone through some bags today I find myself with one that many online are calling a Penny! Uggg! I think I’m going to list her and not wanting to be lumped into a group of uninformed/misinformed, I once again am asking for your help to correctly name her for me…she is small in black patent leather with a turnlock flap that reveals a small pocket perfect for keys, cash, cards, etc. I’ve enclosed some photos for your review…

Thanking you all in advance!
Marie

The bag was probably made exclusively for the Factory Outlet Stores and there are no available public Coach records of Made For Factory items including their actual names until the roughly the mid-2010 decade and it's almost impossible to find names for many of them, unless someone still has a price tag from one that they purchased that still had the Factory Store tag. That bag was made in 2009. I can try a few other sources but please don't get your hopes up.

ETA - I didn't find that EXACT bag but I found what is probably the same style in Signature fabric, with a 14282 style number in an old page that I saved from the then-private Factory Store sale pages in 2010. It was officially listed as a Signature Penny Flap, which probably would make yours a Patent Penny Flap but that's JUST a guess. Many of the photos no longer open but luckily this one does.

Dear Authenticators,
Will one of you please take a look at this Rogue 25, I now have in my possession? I fell in love with the color and it’s a nice size. It’s looks okay to me…but I only know enough to be dangerous when buying bags second hand:) Thank you in advance.
Measurements are approximately 10 x 7.75 x 5 inches.
Item: Coach Rogue 25 peony pink
Site: eBay
