Hi! I am trying to sell my mom's things on poshmark and someone flagged this bag as fake. My mom told me she bought all her stuff from coach online or a department store like Macy's, and she would of never intentionally bought a fake. This was purchased around 2007-2008 any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hooray for Poshmark! This is the first time I've seen Poshmark do something in response to a reported listing.

The bag is fake and there's no way it came from Coach online or Macy's (or another reputable department store).

I see that you're a newbie here so I'll go easy on you. :)

I don't recommend or authenticate Poshmark listings because of their dreadful lack of response to reports of fakes, fraudulent listings and fraudulent sellers. This isn't to say that there aren't honest sellers on PM but because of PM's lack of safety (and IMO, integrity), many sellers who've been kicked off other sites go to Poshmark, knowing that they can peddle their fakes there with little or no consequence.

I always recommend that before listing, sellers verify any item that didn't PERSONALLY purchase directly from a legitimate source. Unless one is expert in the brand, it's better for your own reputation and account to verify.

Thankyou I've been doing a lot of research before I found purseforum and finally got somewhere so I appreciate it! I'm just trying to sell my mom's closet so not a big seller but obviously don't want to sell a fake, she has the money and only purchases authentic purses (so she thought) so this was a shock to hear. Thankyou again.

Another bag I’d like to have authenticated please

Item: Vintage Coach Orange Leather Abbie Crossbody Bag Style #9017
Listing number: 125868126999
Seller and site where listed: eBay, radiobsession
Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/125868126999
Comments: is this the color Tangerine possibly? Tried looking through catalog pictures for Abbie from 1997-1998 but no luck (although I may have missed it, and I also know of everything is shown in the catalog references)

Clicking on the Mercari link shows me her whole closet.

Is this the listing you're asking about?

If so, it's fine. (Style number is 9085, not 9805.)
Yes, it is! Thank you, BeenBurned! Really appreciate your reply! Have a very blessed Easter Sunday!

It's authentic. It looks more like British tan to me. Abbie came in a lot of colors and not all colors made it into the catalog so it could have come in orange since other bags did in the same time frame. This doesn't look saturated enough to me to be orange.
