Good morning, would anyone be willing to authenticate this bag? The creed is what has me curious.

Comments: “this is a coach bean bag” — I’ve read about this before in the forum but didn’t expect to see that on what I think is possibly a Coach Carson Zip (9939)??

Edit to add: my mind cannot make sense of this actually being the word “scratches” but looking at another Bean Bag Creed I think I can see it  is it just such a small imprint that it sort of bleeds together? Or am I trying to convince myself of it? Haha

I believe that bag is authentic and the "bean bag" stamp is a legit Coach mistake.

I agree that "scratches" looks odd but I think it's a lighting/angle distortion that makes it appear to have a spelling error.

Other opinions are welcome.

It's fine. Here's another Bean Bag creed from a confirmed genuine example:

ALL genuine Bean Bag creeds seem to date from 1990 or early 1991. This one with the outlet stamp is from a Swagger Spectator #6820. Even the serial number sequence is close.

And here's how the stamp was originally used, it was listed as "NEW" in both the 1990 Winter Preview for the key fob, and the 1990 Holiday catalog for the paperweight (style # 406):

It's probably a safe bet that only one example of the genuine Bean Bag master creed stamp was ever made. A one-off, or maybe two-off at the most. The Bean Bag Paperweight 406 actually uses "paperweight" on the creed in place of "Bean Bag":

Thank you both @Hyacinth and @BeenBurned ! Glad to have double confirmation

I’m so curious about how the “bean bag” imprint ever came to be (so I am searching the forums for every post about “coach bean bag” now haha — edit: found the SaleArea post regarding the Bean Bag mystery — what a great & informative post)

I bought the bag because the seller sent me an offer shortly after BeenBurned replied. I don’t have this bag style or any Spectator bags yet so I’m glad to add it to my collection, but I really extra love it now because it has this weird manufacturing “oopsy” … I love quirks like this in any brand’s history

I added a few more details to my reply since your post.

The duffle looks fine. There aren't enough pictures of the clutch to be sure.

Hi authenticators!
I sold a metal tag Crescent bag and the buyer is claiming it's fake. Do you mind looking into this bag and let me know its authenticity? I certainly don't want to sell anything fake so I appreciate your time looking into it.

Item: crescent bag
Original acquired from: MVee2019 on Mercari
My shop Link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1237179864/vintage-coach-crescent-bag-precreed

Comments: I got this originally on Mercari USA a few years back from what looked to be a collector, MVee2019

Thank you very much again for checking on its authenticity. Greatly appreciate it.

I'm not seeing any problems. I believe it is authentic. I wonder why your buyer is concerned. Some people may expect all Coach bags to have creeds.

I'm so sorry you were accused of selling a fake. The bag is absolutely authentic.

Did the buyer say why she thinks it's fake? If she'd like to come and post, perhaps we can reassure her.

Thank you so much @whateve ! I'm so relieved. I have to admit that I don't question authenticity when the bag has metal tag or cartouche so I had to reflect on my assumption as well.

And as you said, the buyer said it's missing the creed!! I was not expecting that!

Thank you so much @BeenBurned !! That's what I thought, too but had to ask you all.

This buyer thought all Coach bags have creeds... Problem solved.

Thank you all so much for taking the time to look at the listing pictures. I really appreciate it!

Interested in both of these.

First is a Pocket purse on Etsy that I’m pretty sure is good to go, but the seller had a previous item identified as fake by you guys so I want to double check.

POCKET 9877
Item: Pocket purse 9877 in Bone
Listing # I don’t see this on Etsy?
Seller: Azaliashop
Site: Etsy
Link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1209695752/
Comments: Looks more white than a lot of bags that I’ve seen in Bone, and I prefer this shade so I’m hoping this works out. The seller seems helpful, item looks good to me but I’m also not on your level of detective skills. One of the seller’s previous items came back as fake when I searched this page, but that shouldn’t turn me off of all of her items, right? No E5C-9755, so 04/95 in C? Where is C?

REGINA 9833
Item: Vintage Coach USA Made Regina 9983 Ivory White Leather Small Crossbody Bag
Listing #266166955736
Seller: jaginoles (different on Poshmark)
Site: eBay Poshmark
Comments: Cute bag, great condition, weirdly bad photo of creed. I’m asking vendors for classes pics of that. Also a little odd to see the same item on two different platforms, but hustlas gotta hustle. No J6C-9883, wondering what that stands for. My best guess is 09/96, but again no idea where C is?

Thank you for offering your expertise to the world, this makes shopping for vintage bags so much less scary since most won’t accept returns.
